still makes a bold point doesnt it;)

Compatibility list of a motherboard means nothing to me.... what that list is, is rams they had time to test before the book was made. What about new ram, they wont run because it isnt in a book written a year ago?

I wont buy asus because of compatibility issues I have had over the last 5 years, why would I even attempt to push compatibility. Point was it should attempt to boot at stock, even if it did lead to a BSOD.

So you think its a motherboard or IGP issue? What can I do to test? BTW, I think this ram was out before the motherboard was released.

At this point without even a motherboar beep, I have no idea where they system is hanging. IF it isnt hangign and you have no display, then it leads to other issues. Until I know why or where the board is failing to post, all you can do is try to eliminate things one by one. Without a pocket full of money or a friend to donate known working parts, I really dont know what to say specifically.

Kuripot, are you in the USA? Im sure you could run to a local RadioShack or similar and nab a speaker real quick.

The ram thing with compatibility plays also into who donated the ram to ASUS for testing;)

The only thing you can do to rule out the IGP is use a graphics card. Find a good friend who will lend you his PCIe card or purchase a really cheap one. Also get a speaker for your board. You can diagnose a memory problem very quickly then.

No monitor out is also a sign of a dead cpu...try another if you have one available. :ohwell:

Yup, cloudy Cali (my area that is:(). I was planning on going down to the local electronics store to get a case speaker, couldn't do it over the weekend because of the holidays.

Hopefully I'll have a working video card soon to start diagnosing.

Thanks again everyone for bouncing ideas. I'll get back once I finish the tests.

Really? Last time I used it it was working fine. Hopefully it didn't die somehow.

Just happened to my Thuban...AMD says memory over 1333 hurts the controller, but I think that is bull.

I read that somewhere as well but I'm not sure if I believe that.

But the fact remains that his board would load the default timings and voltages. Unless it's possible for his ram to not wanna run @ 1.5v. Which I highly doubt or we would ALL be screwed.

Your computer won't boot up? BSOD?

It had the same scenario as yours...everything fired up, just no monitor out. (blackscreen) Been my experience that most any ram will work to a point. I use a set of Corsair CMG6GX3M3A2000C7 triple channel DDR3 in just about every motherboard I own...if it happens to be a dual channel mb I just leave one stick out and use two. Never been a problem. Something is preventing you from getting a monitor out and I am afraid it is going to be either the cpu or the onboard graphics.

Just tried a PNY 2gb 1.5v stick of ram, no post. Waiting for my video card to get delivered to test. Hopefully its the onboard video and not the cpu. However I did read that the motherboard bios needs the second revision to run my cpu. I have no idea which BIOS is installed, but that may be the problem as well.

Finally got a motherboard speaker and tested it with only the cpu, cpu fan, and power cables connected and I get no beeps. Reversed the speaker, and tried a different PSU, still no beeps. Called up ASUS, tech supports says its DOA:( Asked me to send it in for a fix or replacement. Very bummed since I have everything ready to install but no board. Any other magic I can try before I send it in?

Pulled out another motherboard to test if the speaker was broken. Beeped on power on. I suppose I'll call it quits on this and wait for the rma. At least shipping should be fast since Asus is only 30 minutes from me:D
