Description of Original Problem: Hello, for the past couple of months I have been having issues with my PC from random crashes when you tab out of a game to a black screening then when booting up to have a VGA error led go off on my motherboard and my displays are blank. I can't really do much like even boot into safe mode because when I restart or shut down the VGA led turns on startup. The only way I can get into my PC is by restarting and power cycling hoping it gets through the VGA led and boots.

Troubleshooting: Currently, the only 'method' I can do is what I mentioned above. I uninstalled drivers some months ago using DDU but the problem still persists.
I have reseated the gpu and even got a pcie extension cable to do it faster, its switched to pcie 3.0.
Cleared CMOS
Cleaned the whole PC carefully
Watched temps (all good)
Tried a new PSU

So in conclusion I am now debating to just get a 4070 if I find one at a good price. I can't keep playing a roulette game with my PC when I need to use it, it's really infuriating and I really feel lost here.
I did find this in the event viewer error tho, I looked it up and couldn't really find anything helpful.

I am not sure about what amdwddmg does, but it's been consistant with the faults so please let me know if you guys know a possible soloution.

I'm 99% certain that your GPU is dying.

Also, what about that PCI-e extension cable? Do you mean the bus, or the power cord? I'm pretty sure extending either isn't really a good idea.

can you boot without graphic's drivers? if so it generaly mean's the gpu is going bad.

having the displeasure of owning a 5700xt, there was a lot of people (me included) with problems like the ones you discribe with those cards.
That's a very common problem, was in their driver notes for years and they never solved it (at least until i got rid of mine). Try installing old drivers, and i mean ancient, and you see it all goes away. Had to hard reset my PC many times, thanks AMD.

search 5700xt black screen, it's a feature not a bug

If it dies at the BIOS boot stage, it's faulty hardware, most likely. No amount of driver cleaning/swapping will help. What can help is taking the GPU out of the equation (e.g. boot using a different one). I know not everyone keeps a spare GPU, but I'd hate to buy a new GPU only to find out later that the problem lies with the PCIe slot instead or something like that.

It's why going to a shop or buying a cheap gpu for troubleshooting is a good idea

Yep. Also, never skimping on a CPU with an iGPU in it. If the display output on your card fails, you can still use the one on your motherboard.

Hello there, what I’m referring to is a pcie riser cable. I had to take out the gpu and place it in another slot so many times I thought getting a riser cable would be easier then taking the whole gpu out each time.

Hey there, like I mentioned before it’s very hard to restart into safe mode because as soon as I restart it won’t go past the VGA error without restarting over and over again. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

I'll try that if i can make it to safe boot, thanks.

Might have to bite the bullet and grab a new card.

I do not have an iGPU :/

Riser cables are a hit-and-miss. Try without it, and see if that improves on your issue.

Then getting a cheap spare card would be beneficial, just to see if it's really your GPU that's causing the problem.

Sorry if I miss communicated, I only got the riser cable after the issues started happening, also I ordered a second hand gpu from eBay that should come in a couple days. Hoping to find the real culprit (fingers crossed)

And how do you know that gpu from ebay is any good? Im not sure where you live but brick and mortars sale display adapters for this reason.
