so, i have this problem for a little while, about a week or so, in which im gaming peacefully, or sometimes even just browsing, and the pc just black screens, or when it isnt a black screen its a white screen or a pink screen or any other color, recently im just playing GTA V Enhanced,Valorant and CS2, and this happens the most in GTA V and the least in Valorant, also theres the textures problem, idk if thats related but in GTA V when im driving really fast sometimes i get to a part where the textures on the map arent even loaded, or when they are its those very far away LODs, i have some pop-in also with npcs and cars on the road
i had a RX560 that was having the same things but i tought it may be gpu problem, so i got a MSI GTX 980 and same thing happens, so i think it may be system ram failing?

before asking, all games are installed on my NVMe drive, ill get the pc specs here and also the exact gpu models too if thats useful

CPU : i5 3330
RAM : 2x8GB DDR3 1600mhz
SSD : Western Digital PC SN530
H61 Mobo Chipset
Previous GPU
Current GPU

If thats important the PSU is a 500W Galax Omega GL500S

also i was playing GTA V and recording the screen waiting for the problem to happen
at the end it happens and i describe what i heard on the earphones but i cant send here cause file is too big (160mb) is there anywere else i can send?

Which driver are you on? The most recent 57x.xx drivers for nvidia are known to have black screen issues. Try installing the most recently considered stable driver 566.36.

As for the not loading textures and pop-in in GTA V Enhanced that is probably due to the low vram amount on your GPU. The game supports 4 GB vram but it recommends 8 GB. So delayd texture load-in is to be expected on older hardware like that.

im downloaded the latest driver avaliable on the nvidia website, im currently at work now but its friday so when i get home ill download this specific driver you mentioned, any trusted app to uninstall the current driver before installing that specific one?, not sure how to do this driver downgrading process correctly

and for the vram i didnt notice that, but i'll do some tests on the games and watch out for vram usage to check if thats the case

Can confirm 57x.xx drivers are a complete mess. I've been having the widely-publicised Nvidia driver shit-show since my launch-day 5070Ti and the same problems impacted older cards like the 4060/4060Ti/4070S. A brand new 5060Ti on a new build also just blackscreened during stability testing.s

There's yet another hotfix to the 576.02 driver available as a beta, but I reckon going back to 2024 drivers is the right thing to do on older hardware. All of the screwups Nvidia have been making are because of the 50-series; If you're not running a 50-series card there's no need to suffer their incompetence.

For uninstalling GPU drivers most people use DDU (Display driver uninstaller)
Common best practices include using it in windows safe mode and disconnecting from the internet to prevent windows from installing anything until the new drivers are installed.

about 4 months, that one i actually bought brand new so no second hand, imma check the voltages and report the results here when i get home (currently on my 9-5, so ill be home by 21:00 UTC

for the drivers, im a bit afraid to do this downgrading process and mess something up, but im gonna look up some tutorials on that

so, i installed the mentioned driver and its been ok so far, i been playing gta v for some couple hours and i got msi afterburner to watch temps, vram usage and stuff, and i play it at native FullHD res with lowest gfx, and game is consistently using 2700MB of vram, sometimes 100mb more sometimes 100less, and still got some pop in and textures not loading or only LODs loaded, so idk what could be, atleast none of those black screen or other colored screens for now, for the voltages that were asked me, i got HW info and i found the 12v voltages, and its ok, however for 5volt and 3.3volt i couldnt find readings for those

Yeah, pretty sure you're good now.
Nvidia driver issues from the 50-series launch onwards have affected hundreds of thousands of people. You're not alone...

The texture loading issue might also be down to the drive the game is installed on. Slower drives (especially an HDD) could be causing this as well. According to PCGamingWiki the game uses the Direct Storage API, so installing it on a NVME SSD would be ideal.

Probably your psu, you went from 1 gpu to another

anyways, im planning to upgrade very soon when i get my paycheck as my own bday gift, going from that to a R5 3600x, Asrock B450 and 2x8gb 3200mhz ddr4
so if its cpu or system ram problem its gonna go away i hope

Using the "Sensors" tab at the top, it will populate a list. They are grouped together so it's impossible to miss.

ill check it when i get home
also the driver thing seemed to help for the random black/colored screens, i played some gta v for some good 4h yesterday and no problem, but later in the night i went to play some valorant, and in one of the matches my screen went all green and for a few seconds i could still hear my team comms however very slow, almost like the audio was being stretched out, and after a few seconds of this it was just silence and the green screen, i restarted and then it was fine apparently after, im thinking these problems (including the pop in thing in gta) may have something to do with ram, either the slots or the stick/s themselves

anyways im going to get my paycheck today and after paying my half of the bills im gonna upgrade the whole kit to AM4 today, and wait for the parts to arrive, still, going to check the other voltages when home

I had this problem, it turned out to be overheating GPU due to the drivers being crap. :toast:
