PC stuck in reboot loop after cleaning

As the title says PC keeps restarting within 5 mins in random screens, Even in BIOS !!!, I have tried many things ,

1. Removed all RAM module, kept only one in all 4 slots 1 by 1, the same problem exisits
2. Removed and re plugged all components
3. Removed CPU and re installed, same problem
4. Read about power switch causing shorts, so unplugged all of them, jaudio, jusb, JFP1 and started the pc using screw driver, still the same problem !!!!

At this point I don't know what to do, I don't have any spare CPU or MB or PSU or GPU

What else can I try, even if I have buy something I am not sure which one should I buy , how can I go about this

Just using qtips, tissue and soft cloth , removed all components , cleaned them and reinstalled them like a fresh build, it was 2 years since I had done a full cleaning, wasn't expecting this to happen

maybe you ripped off a SMD somewhere.
always use a PC air duster and/or a brush. tissues, microfiber cloths etc. can rip off tons of small components.

Ah, you mean in the motherboard, I looked for any such damage , couldn't really notice anything , but not sure.

When you rebuilt your pc, did you try the breadboard method as in build it out of the case? I'm clutching at straws here mind, seeing the advice you've already had.

No did not try that, but it seems to PSU issue I think

Have you checked all of your fan connections etc? Made sure no cables are pinched anywhere? It's almost always something simple that trips us up in a situation like this.

Thanks, I removed the PSU and changed many cables , its still causing reboots. at this point I am going to swap out the PSU first and see , wish I had some backup PSU to check.

It is possible that it's just coincidence and you just so happened to experience a hardware failure at that time.

GL hopefully the PSU swap will be all you need
If no luck after that I think you might have an issue w the board itself.

Seems like a CPU issue, you probably didn't apply thermal paste to your CPU properly and it is overheating after a short period of time, within 5 minutes.

Take off the CPU, remove any thermal paste on it and on the heatsink and reapply new thermal paste, make sure to hold the CPU in place for 20 seconds when placing it on the heatsink so that the thermal paste settles in and then after 30 or so seconds carefully put on the fan and secure it in place with the screws or springs or whatever your fan has.

If you haven't already, try flipping the psu power switch, pop the battery and replace any sata cables in the same spots they were in initially.
I just had a rig I'm building lose it's mind because I changed the SSD sata cable ONE spot down. The only way I could get it to reboot was the above (had to reset the date and time too because I replaced the battery while I was at it). I thought the 12yo test monitor had finally died because I couldn't get any video to come up!

I did this already, removed CPU applied a different thermal paste I had , still the same problem , I checked the temps in bios it was around normal range only 44c even then it restarted

Please try to put complete specs and not partial ones "32 inch gigabyte" could be one of dozens of displays.
You're running 3 sticks of mystery RAM, with a mystery SSD.

That case supports a PCI-E riser for vertical GPU mounting, are you using one?
Are you using any power extension cables, especially on the GPU?


Your problem has the classic symptoms of incorrect memory setups on ryzen - run just one stick in slot 2, enable XMP and post the actual specs of all three RAM sticks. Do them one at a time so the system is stable while you get the images.
The required BIOS settings and physical slots they should be in depends on that information.

Use Zentimings to get the specs the ram is currently running at, and CPU-z to get the SPD information of what it should be at.
If your RAM modules are not 100% identical in every single way, post a CPU-Z screenshot for each memory module.

What my ram supports (XMP2 was edited in by me, it's not official) - vs what it's actually running at, including voltages - this is all information we can use to narrow this down.

A wild guess would be that you should need your two matching sticks in slots 2 and 4, the odd ram stick in 3, enable XMP and the system will likely work how it used to - but without knowing the speeds the RAM sticks will try and run at and the voltages used, it's hard to say what they should be set to.

3x3200? SoC voltage should be around 1.00v to 1.10v, but may default as low as 0.9v
3x3600, or mixed RAM? Might need 1.15v

The DRAM itself may need manual voltages or timings too if they dont support the same defaults, and you either have a flat CMOS battery that reset your previously stable settings on you, or you physically swapped the RAM around the slots (and that may have triggered a CMOS clear, too)

I just remembered, disable automatic restart for windows! Had the same issue long time ago, thought it was hardware, it turns out it was a software error and windows kept automatically restarting whenever it would encounter the error!


Go to Control Panel and select System and Security > System > Advanced system settings.
In the Startup and Recovery section, choose Settings.
Uncheck the box next to Automatically restart.

Thanks for the detailed info but I already mentioned this in my original post as I suspected this and inserted only 1 ram module, I still have the exact same problem, I have 4 sticks and tried with all 4 of them individually already, I previously had two identical ram in slot 2 and 4 , odd ram in slot 1 , then with xmp it was working fine

Thanks for the detailed info but I already mentioned this in my original post as I suspected this and inserted only 1 ram module, I still have the exact same problem, I have 4 sticks and tried with all 4 of them individually already, I previously had two identical ram in slot 2 and 4 , odd ram in slot 1 , then with xmp it was working fine

I guess you've done your due diligence then, I have nothing to add! It literally leaves the mobo becoming defective after you've cleaned it, maybe loosened some component or something of that nature, but who knows!

Sorry, here is the exact RAM, XPG DDR4 D60G 3200 MHz CL16

So its getting more crazy , the new PSU Deepcool PM850D came in today, so plugged in without screwing in the PSU, initially it worked good, I watched 2 videos , browsed some time then I started a game, once the game loaded it rebooted , god damn it!! , once the PC logged back in, I will simply checking the temps, they were all in 40c to 45c ranges, now I ran Cinebench R23 , I could run 3 to 4 multicore benches, temps reached only 68 to 70C , then to my surprise it again rebooted after maybe 30 mins, highest it has been on since this issue started, after this the reboots became frequent, now its back to rebooting every 5 mins
what craziness, so I hope its not the PSU!! , I cant understand why it could work well for sometime with the new PSU.

Got no clue now I am not gonna buy anything new, I will send both the CPU and Mobo for RMA, wait for months or whatever it takes for those to be back.

EDIT: One strange thing I am noticing is with my Old PSU, reboots are very frequent almost immediately after I enter my PIN it reboots but with the New PSU I can sometimes stay logged on for even 1 hour and the restart are not frequent though , I was even able to run one unigine benchmark as well , does this explain anything ?? Maybe my new PSU is also faulty ? or we can safely assume PSU is not at fault here

Yes indeed, they run fine if the PC does not reboot in the middle, i wrote in my previous posts with my new PSU i was able to run Cinebench two to three times with temps around 68 to 70C, but then PC restarted in the middle itself sometimes as well. memtest ran in bios once as well
