Hi all!

I installed a new ssd on Windows 11 and then I can’t get into BIOS when I boot up. After clearing CMOS, there is no display anymore and my motherboard gets stuck at code 99. It also shows CMOS Error. Please help!

Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula Z690

Where is your motherboard manual for the Q code?

I checked all connections and removed the CMOS battery but it is still giving CMOS error code 99

edit: Display is back and computer boots with the onboard graphics but no display when I plug it in my graphics card… graphics card is lighting up though

Are you using a different display connector or display cable to before you installed the SSD?

You didn't take out the power connectors to make room for plugging in the SSD, right?

Nope. Turns out for some reason it wasn’t picking up my graphics card… plugged in hdmi to motherboard port and then switched back to graphics port and it worked!!
