Everyone who wants to try out the next version of Windows Media player, which will come as a part of Windows Vista, can download the leaked version right now. It has changed quite a bit from version 10. Mostly to the better in my opinion.

It looks much cleaner, probably because they're trying to compete with iTunes I suppose.

i got this a couple hours ago its pretty cool

Ah, man... too bad!

I can't nab it - I don't do "bittorrent" type tools is why!

Thing is, why this is disappointing to me is simple:

I usually like messing about with new MS stuff (except for OS beta builds & IE beta builds... though IE7 was pretty ok, even for corporate development for intranet pages & ActiveX usage (specifically, Crystal Reports 7-9 in browser report generators - which I tested it for in the workplace months ago for & it worked well, tabs & all!)).

:(

This one does look cool imo as well/too! Wish I could snag it...

APK

P.S.=> Think you guys could do a "you send it" ( yousendit.com iirc is the URL) my way? I use hotmail, so it may be too big though (not sure of std. hotmail acc't. limits though, probably TOO small)... apk

Ah... thanks Solaris!

:)

* I will "poke around" more there & see what goes!

Thanks again,

& sorry for late reply - had guests today.

APK

P.S.=> Hauling it in now... but, must "GHOST" system beforehand (it's an imperative when you have one setup clean imo & you know it)... apk

Been playing about with it today and like the slick interface and nice linear menus. Very "Vista"!! LOL.

One annoyance. When playing a video I used to double click out of full-screen. It won't do that now cause they have made it so when you click the video pauses.

Other than that all systems working great!!

Looks like crap. Nothing new and I bet it takes twice the resources to run.

Always so negative wazz... but you're probably right. :)

Well, I cannot use it, even though I downloaded it here.

Apparently, it only installs for XP, so I cannot use it here (I run/use Windows Server 2003 SP #1 is why)...

At least, it wont install & run via its std. installation program.

I might be able to get it to go, but NOT w/out hacking around in its files and attempting to manually do so via regsvr32.exe on the OLE Server DLL's, & trying to get it to run in its own folder etc. + playing with its other config. files (as you can do on Windows Server 2003 with IE7) + launching its .exe possibly via .cmd or .bat files in order to fool it into running.

No biggie though - I can wait until it finalizes & actually comes out with an edition for Windows Server 2003, which eventually, it will.

APK

P.S.=> I saw the screenshots though, & it does look "very VISTA" as others said here... apk

I think it has now been officially released.
