ASRock P67 EXTREME4 mobo
Intel Core i5-2500K
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
the 212+ fan will not work in a proper PMW state, rather the fan runs at one constant speed. In the BIOS the CPU fan has one major setting pull down menu followed by a sub-menu. The fan itself works fine with other mobos, changing speeds as CPU temps increase/decrease.
The main CPU fan menu in the asrock BIOS gives the user a choice of 1. full on (fan runs at max speed like a 3-pin case fan) or 2. automatic (this opens a sub pull down menu).
In the sub-menu you can set the fan speed using a 1-10 setting where 1 is the lowest speed and 10 the highest.
Currently I have the fan setting at automatic/ level 1 speed which is fine as the CPU stays under 50c during anything intensive and fan runs at 1k RPM with no noise.
It's more of an annoyance as I'm used to fan changing speeds between 500-1200rpm as needed.
Any thoughts on making the fan run with it's PMW function?
