Please give reasons as to why either ps3 controller or the xbox360 controller is better( I assume this applies to pc gamers as well since you can hook both up to the pc) I was just curious, because I had a friend who was a 360 fanboy and claims the 360 controller to be better at FPS games, which I personally thought was some what bullshit(I am no fanboy to either console)

PS I think there should be some kind of console category in the forums not just the games, and I also dont know if this fits in games but I did anyways/

EDIT theres no right or wrong answer its simply just opinions and I want to hear you guys opinions to why either controller is better/ preferable to you

The best for FPS is the mouse-keyboard combo and not the Xbox 360. PS3 controller for everything else.

lol i missed the gamecube I was hoping the wii would have or keep that controller for all their games but only a few

I like the mouse and keyboard but, thats besides the point and kinda off topic

Can't stand controllers, but if I had a gun to my head it would be a PS3/PS2 controller.

god.....lol god........lol wow

Grant me the strength of the X360 Controller. :D

I was a skeptic at first, but once I picked up an xbox 360 controller, I felt pure ecstasy. IT KNOWS WHERE I WANT MY FINGERS TO BE

Xbox 360 controller. It just feels... so right in my hands lol.

PS3 controller, the 360's just feels too large, I don't have small hands either, just always liked the playstation design. The ones I liked the most were PS1 controllers that had no joysticks, those were awesome.

360 pad for me ,not owning either a 360 or ps3 at the moment , find it very comfortable to use with pc games that support it.

ps3 controller i like symetrical controllers though its easier for me to memorize everything. so i suppose its kinda biasd.

YOU mentioned your friend saying Xbox 360 controller is better in FPS than the PS3 controller. Well they both suck in FPS, but then there's the ps3 controller for everything else. The Xbox controller just looks weird and feels weird.

yeah they both do suck in fps but I say ps3 controller, why, cause the l and r buttons on the ps consoles don't hurt my hands after playing a game for a while the 360's do, maybe my hands are just too big

I prefer the 360 controller because it just feels 'stronger' ;)

Consoles?
Eww...

for fighting games it has to be playstation control pad..for fps has to be 360.

Dreamcast FTW

Saturn

XB360

PS3 i need third party.

wii first :P

360 controller second, i connect my housemates to my PC every now and then, and its layout just makes sense. i can hit every button and control without reaching or cramping my hand, and i never get buttons confused

Since Sega Dreamcast controller isn't on the list I'll have to go with 360. I had a 360 wireless controller for my PC and that controller could easily handle a throwing every now and then were as my PS2 controller back in the day couldn't even handle being touched. Also the 360 just fits in between my hands alot better than the PS2 controller...so unfortunate I couldn't get it to work with MLB2k9:cry:

xbox 360 by for , i tried playing grid on a friends ps3 ,it looked ok kinda laggy sometimes ,but any way the analogs are very twitch and hard to use. the 360 analog is alot smoother

the snes controller was awesome(still is)

perfect for street fighter

but ps2/ps3 for me

The Dreamcast had this kinda weird inwards grip so if you had big hands it wasn't so great, it also only had one analogue so thats a bummer other than that the triggers and buttons felt great. I liked the little vmu giving health info ect lol.

As for the 2 choices above i like the 360 controller better, maybe its personal preference but it feels more comfortable to me.

I dont like or see how rumble and 6 axis can work together properly. I know it may only be a slight rumble but if its rumbling and sensing wouldn't it sense the rumble movements too? I dont know if it disables rumble on 6 axis movements ive never used a dualshock 3 only 6 axis so i dont know. 6 axis to me is okay but useless, ive never needed to use 6 axis i can see its merits in a driving game but most ive seen it used for is to move sackboys head in little big planet lol. I also despise the ps3 controllers triggers they are far to small and shaped with a curve so you slip off them, you cant judge pedal on it other than that its okay feels a bit small for me but button layout is like standard these days.

xbox 360 controller feels good to hold fits the hand and has great shape. The buttons are great to press, layout is good too, everything is in reach! Only problem is the dpad its an abomination luckily its not used for most games only as a menu, item or some sort of ability select.

Most games are preconfigured for the 360 controller, like Crysis for example it is set up for the 360 controller to go! Buttons are all set and has a map of the keys and controller itself.

EDIT: nothing really requires the d-pad these days you can use the analogue for fighting games the only way to play is a fight pad or an arcade stick (not literally as you can play without but its harder).

360 :P.. Although i liked the original xbox controller better due to size. I find them on the small side.
