Hi there, the title speaks for itself. I'm wondering if it is at all possible to flash a different bios on the MSI RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X OC. The reason? Well I want the card to run quiet. I managed to get a card without coil whine but the fans are a little too loud for me when under load. So I was wondering if one of the quiet bios's would work from either the MSI RTX 4090 24 GB BIOS (Suprim X) or the MSI RTX 4090 24 GB BIOS (Gaming X Trio).

My current bios: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-rtx-4090-ventus-3x-oc.b9906
Possible flash #1: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/249755/msi-rtx4090-24576-220920
Possible flash #2: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/251463/msi-rtx4090-24576-220818

Thank for any assistance guys.

Worst reason to flash a card. Why not just leave alone and use software to control the fans.

Yes you're right I could use software to control the fans but I would like to have the fans just run silent by default without having to use software. If it's not possible then I would rather just leave it be and deal with the noise. I'm just curious if it would work.

Don`t flash bios, very risky! Undervolt your card, since fanspeed is based on target temp, undervolting it will reduce noise. If you are unsure of how to undervolt, try a basic powerlimit og 70%, card performs very close to stock, but uses a lot less power.

Great advice to not flash it, especially as it's so expensive. Undervolting is worth a try though.

Don't expect too much in the way of making it much quieter though as Ventus is MSI's budget brand and one of the ways that they reduce cost is to install a cheaper, noisier cooler on it that's less efficient. By all means though try undervolting along with a custom fan profile and see how much quieter you can make it without overheating.

Let us know how you get on.

As far as I know this isn't even possible but do you even know if those cards are less noisy ?

Just looking at them I doubt there is any difference at all, I bet they have the exact same fan curve.

Take it back and get another model then..
