Possible Viber Scam? [help needed]

Hi all,

I have a recent event [like 30 mins ago] which is bothering me and I wanted to check it out with you. So my wife wanted to install Viber on my rig and in a hurry she clicked the first link possible link after using the string "Viber download". This link charged her 3 EUR and when she told me about it, I was puzzled as Viber is a free program. My question is: is the PC infected with malware showing false ads? or she just clicked the wrong thing. Here are the full details:

Browser used:

With Adblock extension. (I am not sure, why I put this one. Should change it to Ublock I guess)
Search engine: Google

Antivirus on the PC: Panda Dome Free + MalwareBytes Free . Both didn't find anything when I scanned. There really isn't much installed on this PC. She has Zoom as she needs it for work (I know, I wouldn't choose it, but not her choice).

Jokes aside, why not disabling the Windows Telemetry BS and just use a normal browser?

How about just helping him?

Yes, it looks like a illegitimate bundle ad. At best, they just charge for a legit product they have no business charging for. At worst, malware and banking details stolen. Be careful and do a malware sweep / watch your accounts, would be my advice.

There's nothing wrong with Microsoft Edge or the browser before it, I use it here with Norton & I have never been infected in over 10 years+ always captured before it get to my computer.

To be honest I was curious for the new one. I was giving it a chance for a week or so. It is chromium based. It's basically a Chrome with a Microsoft skin, I wouldn't call it Internet Explorer anymore.

@R-T-B I think it's the first option. I don't see anything installed on the PC and payment was done with a text message over her phone. I will watch out for anything strange.
