Potential graphics card shortage incoming... interesting idea. A.I. demand taking up TSMC space.

We have higher expectations nearly 30 years later. Although plenty of people game on consoles or steamdeck at 30fps and are fine with it. I never liked it not even in the 90s.
Speak for yourself. ;) My limit of acceptability is still 30 FPS in most games, just like it was 20 or 25 years ago. Disclaimer: I don't play CS, or other reflex-based multilayer jumper-shooter, mind you. I'm mostly interested in story-based, atmospheric walking simulators.

Sorry to be dismissive but, typical youtuber clickbait. Aside, GPUs are far from that wanted, since the pandemic is over. And then with the extreme prices, that's a triple no.

Probably with a position in the stock market as well as for clicks?

People should stop buying current gen gpu's. Wait till next and then buy. 4xxx is mediocre, 7xxx is not that much better.

My 3080 still does the job. until it does not, i'll keep it.

Its not though..

But it is expensive, and that will not change going forward..
Right, the 4080 and 4090 are pretty good ... but expensive. The rest is mediocre i agree half way.

Probably with a position in the stock market as well as for clicks?
I don't know about that, but I don't trust 99% of youtubers, the game with youtube is to create clickbaits to get as many clicks as possible (for either $ or clout), the whole model is poor and kinda cheap and i don't watch youtube anymore because of that. The few youtubers I like, even GamersNexus partakes in clickbait to some extent, J2C is one of the worst, I unsubbed him a long time ago. A lot of his videos were plain nonsense / wrong technical info / negativity (a huge no thanks from me). That's my opinion.

Good for anyone with Nvidia shares

at least until HAL-9000 becomes self-aware

Bad news for PC gamers...

Nvidia crushed their own estimates, entirely due to data center revenue. They are making bank selling AI cards. After hours share price is currently +6% due to guidance (it was over +7% at one point).

Data center revenue isn't a one-time thing. Enterprise purchase orders are planned ahead of time and they likely have a stack of unfulfilled orders with more every day.

GeForce graphics cards will be at a premium for the next year or longer because they can charge whatever they want to enterprise clients for AI silicon.

just glad i got my rig built and great prices on all of it to boot, time to game

well, now that they've castrated 60-series back to the Maxwell days, the 128-bit bus means it will stay in-stock indefinitely:

and the 4050 will be 96- bit 6gb (and maybe drop back down to 220, should be way-faster than the 64-bit infinity-cache AMD cards)
