Presenting my new invention - RAMGUARD

I am happy to present my new invention, made from a paper carton from a Kakao box. It needs to be from Kakao, Cacao or any other product would not work!

You may also want to install a sheet of some transparent plastic to be less distracting and ugly, but that would not work either. Only paper from kakao boxes works.

The function is simple - with the air in the case moving towards the back of the case, this simple barrier prevents the hot air coming from the GPU to hit RAM sticks and significantly lowers their temperature, probably also lowers the temperature of the VRM heatsinks on the motherboard.

The fan installed on the card has nothing to do with the RAMGUARD, it is just a coincidence.

Will it work with normal cpu cooler? or only with water aio, and is tubing structural for the RAMGUARD?

I have been using CPUGUARD for the last few years of blow-through GPU coolers in my HTPC, to do the same job, but also direct hot GPU air away from the CPU fan's intake.

For CPUGUARD, you cannot use Kakao container, it must be the plastic carton of a 2016 ikea roller blind: FÖNSTERBLAD, I believe. Using Kakao for CPUGUARD instead of RAMGUARD would probably set fire to everything, steal your car, and murder your dog - so don't risk it!
 
Just be careful of trademark infringement lawsuits. If I recall as a general rule you shouldn't have issues with RAMGUARD in different industries such as automotive industry or extracurricular sex industry but the computer industry might have this trademarked somewhere already so exercise some due diligence before attempting to trademark RAMGUARD.

Some time ago I installed GPUGUARD into my ML-09B. It's very effective in preventing recirculation of GPU exhaust back into the cooler. It includes metallic and plastic coating as fire prevention.
 
Sooo, talking airflow away from the RAM lowers their temperature? We sure about that or is that just a theory still? Where's the before and after temps?
 
What I've read, is that modern cards with through-flow coolers, they can actually decrease RAM temps.

Sure, it does, the RAM sticks receive just cool air from the front of the case. I even removed the corner because I presumed that the warm air will not need this part at all, because it is carried back by the case air flow.

Before temp was: very warm
After temp: much much cooler

For RAM sticks this works just beatifully, I am not sure about the benefit for motherboard VRM heatsinks, the effect may not be too high.

Sorry OP, but your too late on this, as I invented a similar device years ago, but mine was made from neurotronically-enhanced graphene fabric, coated with a tritianium-reinforced duterium polymer solution that dissipates ALL heat at 350% efficiency, thereby reducing the interior of your pc case to near zero temps without all the issues associated with liquid or LN2 cooling....

Man those big, fat royalty checks are nice...hahahahaha :D

My paper RAMGUARD warns before fire erupts by smouldering. I think I could intensify this great smouldering effect by mounting kakao capsules on it.

I sure remember.
Dell were taking the "why say lot word when few word do trick" approach to fans.

Those were also the days when every other Dimension, Inspiron, and Optiplex had faulty power supplies. I do not miss the days when Dell would just ship us a crate of replacement PSUs and several hours of my week was just swapping blown PSUs.

It was the tail-end of the early-00's global capacitor plague.

I guess Dell found a capacitor supplier that was too good to be true and produced several million PSUs that were practically guaranteed to fail.
 
I damaged my precious RAMGUARD by making two holes in it. You can see the K type thermocouples roughly on the air path from the card to the RAM sticks, if there was no barrier in the way.

Card loaded with Nomad stress test, PC case closed - normal air flow pattern, ambient temp also visible.

As you can see, the RAM sticks are receiving nearly 20°C cooler air.

What are those thermo couples? With this it looks like spaceship hull punctured with alien probes :D
 
Turn on the TV and watch how we slay the Swedes! Those are just the normal K type thermocouples that came with the meter.
I wanna small thermocouples :D and neat like those :D
 
Oh no, Swedes are slaying us instead. Anyway, I am afraid I do not understand what you mean, in each case ONE thermocouple is very easy and cheap to get with an electric multimeter.
 
It's about the diameter of the thermocouple it is hard to find lower than 1 mm, and they could be fine to add to gpu to for example thermal pads, and Yours looks like small enough to not be squashed by the components and radiator :).

Temperatures may not be enough

If the RAM is receiving cool but stagnant air, this may not be as good as warm moving air.
