Problem with 7700k and Cooling

Hi all , i have a Matx board , the Gigabyte B150M DS3H , a GTX 1080 , 3 ram slots ( 1xGB and 2x4GB of Kingston DDR4 2133) , a Seasonic 520 and a Corsair 400c .

I want to buy a 7700k obviously to no ocing right now because my motherboard dont let me , so i am thinking on an 280MM aio at front ( because in TOP dont fit ) , or a good air cooler like Noctua DH-15 but i think that not fit too ... In a future i will buy a Z370 ATX board to ocing the 7700k so i want a nice cooling ... What can i do for the little size in my case and board ? Thanks

7700k isnt compatible with Z370. You can go with a 280mm AIO in the front or a standard 240mm AIO in the top, I dont think it will make a huge lot of difference with temps.

Because air cooling i am view that the best coolers like Noctua DH15 , DH14 , Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 , all are very big and my case and board is a little small and i have 3 kits of RAM , plus many cables and a big VGA , so i dont think that coolers fitting ...

And the AIO i think that 280mm can fit in front , not in top , and the 240mm can fit in front or top

With the 7700K it will require a delid to get good temps. Otherwise you'll just have to be happy with whatever OC you get without the delid. 240 or 280mm wont matter huge load, the difference in temps wont be worth paying the extra ontop for the 280mm. But if you got the cash then its up to you. I can highly recommend Corsair ML fans as an upgrade to the stock fans on any AIO

I dont plan to heavy oc, only light, but i wont temp problems.. I dont consider that 140mm aio, is still good like a 240/280 AIO? Because is better for space and noise... And a air cooler like the noctua dh 15S that comes with only one fan so is smaller is a good option?

It will still work but temp might be a bit higher. 240 and 280mm allows you to run more fans so you can run them slower while moving a decent amount of air through the radiator. The DH-15 comes with one fan but you can add three fans on there providing you have the mounting clips for it.

My 7700K runs low temps at idle, but spikes pretty high when you stress it out.
It never throttles so I guess you could say that the Kraken X41 does a good enough job of it.

Hard decisión, i dont know what buy haha. A 240mm radiator will be perfect, but i read that are louder and stock fans are not too good. A 140mm aio will be great but dont cooling too much i think. And a air cooler like noctua dh15s is good because is smaller than dh 15 and i think that well cooling well and make less noise?

And one important thing is my mother have only 1 fan header and 1 cpu fan header, so i buy a splitter hub with 4 ports and connect the 2 stock case fans and one AF140 intake, so i have only one port to another fan ( i dont know how many ports use the AIO)

Use a good quality 280/240mm AIO with some quiet, but powerful fans on it.

Cougar Vortex 140mm fans do a good job. (so do the 120mm fans)
Here I have two of them on a Corsair 480mm cooler.
This keeps my Ryzen 1700X running quite cool, even under load.

Yes , thanks , but the only matter is my case and my mother , i am afraid that the AIO wont enter , sure in top not , but in front sure enter well ... But i will spend then $150-$160 in a 280mm AIO + the two 140mm fans . Is no there any 280mm aio that comes with decent fans at all ? At with the conection is there a issue like i said before ?

I just prefer Cougars and I spend the extra to get them. There are a lot of coolers that come with good fans, but I don't use stock fans on them.

If you're just going stock, you'll do quite well with a 240mm. By stock, I mean turbo as well. I haven't done any extensive stress testing, but I can keep it under 60 degrees with Intel's XTU stress test. Doubt it'd change much elsewhere. Problem is some of these things can get a little loud.

ive got the 7700k and i cooled it with my open air case laying on its back. so the cpu was facing straight up and it didnt come with a cooling fan or heat sink so i used one off of another pc that wasnt even 1151 socket. i just apllied a touch of past and set it up there and temps were fine for 2 weeks. ive used pentium g4560s stock heat sink an fan also to cool mine .it done just fine. your creating more then it is and your going to spend alot of money for no reason when you should put the mobo u have now forsale on letgo offerup or craigslist or all the above and purchase you a 1151 mobo that you want or dont purchase the i7 7700k hell the g4560 doul core with for logical cores and only 13% lose in performance on its single thread score and its like 75 $ i was like wtf are you kidding me unless your doing some series vedeo rendering and so on . ive got both and its hard for me to justify 300.00$ deference in the 2 .i mean hell i have to look up and see what PC im on to know what processor im running sometimes becuase its kind of hard to tell a big deference deppending on what imdoing of coarse.

i wouldnt think those fans would make the cpu any cooler with the closed loop watercooler maybe a couple of degress but hey i might be wrong .lol it wouldnt be the first time . i would like to know though how much cooler you run with the fans vs without becuase im not running any with my custom loop and could be becuase i have plenty . the more i think about it your right but i would still like to know

yes it will be just fine up to 48 / 4800ghz

but like i said i would just use the stock coller and get a z270 mobo first. then you worry about oc and temps. one step at a time but you never want to keep adding to something that your not wanting . if you have to wait another couple of weeks to get what you really want it not going to kill you . i was the the worst and my wife fixed me.lol

The information is out there, you just needed to look. Noctua has a motherboard (they call them mainboards) compatibility list.
And, from Corsair's 400C page:

If I'm reading their information correctly, there's 64 mm of clearance for the RAM with the D15S. How tall are your DIMM's?

Be aware the the $37 Scythe Mugen max and $45 Scythe Fuma both equal or exceed the thermal performance of the $90 Noctua NH-D15 and Cryorig R1 ... and those will beat almost every 240mm AIO (except for Swiftech's). I ya go water, the only recommendations I can make are the Swifetch models and the ones from EK modular series which should be dropping any day now. Mixing aluminum and copper in the same loop and using weal pumps as 99.9% of the AIO models do and not allowing the user to add corrosion inhibitors was always a bad idea.

And performance wise it's no contest. See 23:00 mark for test results
