I've got a problem with my cpu p4 it's an: 2.8Ghz and he's only working @ 1.866MHZ , and its working on a P4S533-mx:( .

This is not the only issue... when i try to overclock it to 2.100 he dies...

My Power Source has 230W. Do you have any ideia what coul this be ? :banghead:

Only working at 1.866MHz.... do you mean GHz?

you must have either 266mhz ram or a chipset that doesnt support the faster ram.. it could be that your motherboard jumpers are just set wrong.

PSU, will decrease many options I do reccomend getting the TR2

i guess its speedstep?^^
trottling due to power issues?^^
dunno exactly

thats exactly what i was thinking seriously dude not enough juice.

A modern computer wouldn't run at 1.88MHz, so that must be a typo; plus desktop P4s don't have any Speed Step-like technology. Even if you took your front side bus down to 1Mhz it would still be a 13-15MHz CPU. He must be trying to get it from 2.8-3.1Ghz. I doubt it's throttling I really think it's the puny PSU dropping it down to 1.88GHz if anything. Get yourself at least a nice 400Watt with greater than 17amps on the 12V line. You aren't trying to underclock it to 2.1GHz are you?

guys hello... his front side bus jumpers are set incorrectly. my guess is that it is an older mobo and has hardware ram dividers...his ddr is running at 266mhz with a 14x mult on the cpu. that gives 1.866ghz... it has nothing to do with power (although that sould be addressed) but incorect motherboard settings.

this is the mobo specs http://www.baber.com/baber/411/asus_p4s533-mx.htm. as i thought the mobo doesnt support pc3200 ram and therefore 800mhz front side buses..new mobo and your good, its just a chipset limitation..

kk :D
my motherboards dont have one of these jumpers anymore 0o

but 1.866MHz is.. 1.866MHz...

1,866MHz = 1.866GHz

Do you now that 1000mhz is equal to 1.0 Ghz ?????? LOL:)

Yes, but 1.000MHz isn't!

ok so now ur just mocking him...shut the flamage...save that for bikr.

the motherboard doesnt support the frontside bus end of story. get a new mobo ur cpu will run at correct speed.

You should def get a new powerbox. It could be your cooling. It could also be your MoBo. New power would work
