yet another problem with my network..:shadedshu

ok this time..i cant acess my router (u know..the 192.168.1.1)

does anyone have any suggestions on what i should/can do?

When you first bought the router brand new were you able to access it?

try 192.169.0.1 not 192.168.1.1

you cam also push and hold the reset button and it will reset to default settings.

I went thru the SAME hassle when I transitioned from CableModem to DSL a few months back...

E.G.-> When my BSP for DSL helped me setup my "modem", they set it to 192.168.1.1, which was what my LinkSys/CISCO technology router was initially setup to be... & it caused the SAME b.s. you are seeing & more (I could NOT get online period with the LinkSys unit in the mixture).

I had to reset my LinkSys unit via its webbrowser based interface to use a diff. DHCP assigned IP address, to one "later" in the chain of valid DHCP addresses, in order for it to work with my DSL.

I did that by turning off my DSL modem, & hooking up the LinkSys unit instead & redoing its config & saving it.

(Could probably have went to VERIZON setup page again & altered the IP address of the modem for DSL itself, rather than doing a manual reset of my NAT firewalling router (linksys) but, this is how I did it)

Man it makes me glad that I have wireless internet, no modem required. Try redoing everything, from the start, hooking it up to your computer, then hooking the internet up and whatnot. It might just fix your problem.

Ok then. When you go into 192.168.1.1 does it link you to a web address of your router? Add that to your favourites and excess through there next time. My router also has this problem. Just reset it and do what i told you to IF your router has directed you to a webpage.
