well the story is like this :
I own a X800 Pro card on PCI-E platform from Palit
the card is built on R430 chipset instead of 420 as usual
what pops up in mind first is WOW I have 16 pipelines open... but no only 12.
I assumed I could have turned this card into X800XL for the following reasons:
1. Same core (R430 hope the other 4 pipelines r good and not corrupted just locked !)
2. Same Memory !!! same samsung Chips (took off the heatsink and made sure of it )
3.the card can hold up with XL speeds (400/500) actually it does (472/520)
I've downloaded a "XL" bios non-VIVO card as mine ! assuming it will fit cause Sapphire build
all the XL cards.
than got into dos backuped the old bios and typed as following:
a:\ATIFLASH -newbios -f -p 0 bios.bin
than got the faulty result:
OLD SSID : 554f
NEW SSID : 0600
OLD P/N : X800PRO-256MB
NEW P/N : 113-AA45300-101
ERROR 0FL01
what did I do wrong?
I am despert!!!
