I had looked at fireproof safes at one point for the external, but it seemed as though most sites suggested that a standard fireproof safe got WAY too hot inside to keep a hard drive's data in tact, that it was meant more for paper and documents. There seems to be a couple "FIREPROOF" hard drive enclosures on the market, but they are standalone and require you to buy the hard drive with case at the time, I remember the cost be astronomical for one. Probably cheaper to do a safety deposit box method at your bank.
