Hi all!
I was playing medievil resurrection on a psp emulator, but i get very low frame rates
like 7-9 FPS!
Anyone has any experience to help me out? I cannot figure out why this emulator runs so slow.
It is the java emulator Jpcsp v0.6 2643

As soon as i downloaded it, it crashed.
Tried it 12 other times, all crashes

i assume it's because it is written in java. no offense to the language, but a game platform emulator is not the idea program to be written in java.

sorry i don't have any alternatives for you. didn't mean for this post to be all negative.

I understand your negative impact, as it is the only emulator that has worked....

BTW, i greatly hate java

You could try the more core version of what you have been trying called PCSP its kinda the same of what you have been useing but remove the JAVA part heres a link

No other PSP emulator offer better compatiblity and speed than JPCSP currently, believe it or not.

Not sure with your game but an almost sure fire setting for this emu is as follow:

And force disable vsync on catalyst/vision control panel, this is really important.

Note: Disable Only GE Graphic option if you got flickering or black screen.

I would really like to make changes, but now, no matter where i run the emulator it goes full screen and i cannot make any changes!
Do you know how to get back to windowed mode?

Yeah, just right click or press f2. If that fail as well, just delete the setting.properties on jpcsp folder, it'll revert to default setting.

I deleted the config file and it got windowed mode again

Where did you get that window? I cannot find it in the emulator

Where can i disable vsync on catalist?

Also, why do i get 7-9 fps? Because of low power of cpu? or gpu?
My cpu is being used like 85% and ram 48%
I cannot imagine what powerful computer is needed to run PS3 or Xbox 360 games!

I'm using JPCSP launcher, but the option is all there on the native program. As with all emulator, sometimes CPU and GPU requirement shoot through the roof depending on the game.

Your options are very different!
Can you make a screenshot to the program opening screen?
I get this on options->configurations

And this is your options screen on my version

Redit: YAY! I changed my options identical as yours and it works to 15-30 fps :)
At least now i get double fps
Thanks!
(i guess my version is the latest one)

Ok, actually i tried it and after 5 minutes it crashed.
Display driver currently stopped!
Is there any option i need to disable?

That symptom usually mean either the driver is wonky (since JPCSP use OpenGL) or your card is failing.

Also, sometimes PSP games lock fps at 15, 20 or, 30, and currently there's no option to disable frame limit on JPCSP.

Would it be the card, even if i play Modern Warfare 3?
