Hi all,
I recently purchased a intel q8300, cuz saidly my previous processor a C2D E8400 died in action after 3 years of intensive 3.8/4.0 ghz oc. i was a little bummed out, but i had it for 3.5 years so
pretty nice processor lifetime.
Back to the subject @ matter; ocing the Q8300,
Im currently running it @ 3.3ghz 440fsb vcore 1.2875 @ idle 1.26 @ load 1.18
I also disabled all the powersaving options in the bios, except the multiplier, set to 7.5
so after 1 hour of occt 3.1.0 linpack testing 90 % mem the temps are around 50 the first core is always around 45/47 & the rest of the cores are constantly around 42/43.
My Cooling is a Corsair Hydro H50 With Push&Pull effect 2X120 mm 1600 rpm
i also have 2 tiny 40mm (i think) on the North/South Bridge heatsinks installed
Thats all clicked in on the Asus P5Q SE2.
So if my actual question is can i go higher, i heard on most boards 450FSB is pretty much the max, any higher and ur lucky.
so any advice is appreciated
