Hi,
I would like to seek advice/opinion on overclocking my AsusEn8600GT graphics card.
My current setup is as follows
Intel E6550 overclocked to 3.108 Ghz @ 444mhz FSB
Cooler Master hyper TX-212 CPU cooler with additional 120MM fan
Kingston HyperX 2x1GB DDR2 RAM running at 888Mhz 5-5-5-15
Asus P5K-R mainboard
Settings are mostly set to auto except memory timings, RAM voltage set at 2.1V.
As I understand it, the stock GPU core/mem for my card is 540Mhz / 700 Mhz. Using Riva Tuner, I have been able to bring the card up to about 601/840. The system appears to become unstable after that as I get snow/artifacts on the screen. Does this sound about right? Or is there more potential without any drastic modifications (i.e no bios mods, volt mods etc) ? perhaps upping PCIe I/O voltage or frequency? Appreciate any advice.
One other thing I noted is that in benchmarking, the video performance seems to drop after i OC the video card. Is that normal?
Thanks a lot.
