Well, ive got a connect3d X800GTO, unfortuneatly not moddable to 16 pipelines, but should still pump out a decent overclock. (400core, 490mem)

Im going to be using the stock hs/f.

I need to know what temperature should GPU's go up to before there to hot.

Also i have a few issues with ATI Tool (0.24). When i ran it to find max core, it ran fine for 5.38, then it got an error, the core was at 448. When it automaticly begins again, it ran fine at this speed for 10minutes before getting an error, but in those 10minutes, ATITool didnt increase the core speed again. I have to abort and restart it at 448core for it to continue raising. It then ran for 3.24 and got an error at 470core.

How long should a certain speed run fine on ATITool for it to be considered stable?
What core/mem should i expect to get from this card?

EDIT:
Just had a muck around with my fan settings in ATI Tool, god does this thing get loud at 100%! But it does make a difference to the temperatures, and brings them down faster. Should i put the speeds higher when running ati tool?

what i do is set fan to max, find your max clocks, and then make profiles, like gaming(bf2) gaming(CSS) and benchmarking...and then use those for whatever your needs are...and when you need the higher clocks, for gaming for instance, then who cares if the fan sounds like an airplane flying over your house, cause you should have your sound cranked anyway...but yeah run your fan at max when finding your max clocks, cause the cooler you can keep it, the less errors will be detected...and you don't always need to run it at max clocks...like when your watching porn or downloading music...

do the GTO's have RAM cooling on both sides?? cause if not, watch your memory clocks...

I have my unmoddable Connect3D x800gto R423core running at 580mHz core and 560mhz mem with no ramsinks. I am watercooling the gpu though. I haven't seen it go over 40°C with any game I have thrown at it. I.E. Fear, FarCry, COD2, or HL2. No ramsinks and very little air flow around my ram, if any at all.

Thanks for that. Ive had a muck around in the ati tool fan settings, got it set so the higher the temperature goes the higher the fan goes. Ill set it to 100% when finding max's. It went up to 540core last night and it had been running for 30mins at this, i then restarted it. The core went up some more and then my pc crashed. All of this wasnt at 100% fan speeds though. Was at something like <65%.

As i said in my last post, my core went to 540 safely, on non 100% air cooling. Need to max out the memory now.
What are RAM Sinks? I only knew of buying 3rd party fans to attach to cool GPU's?

RAM sinks are small, passive heat sinks for memory chips...with good airflow, they can keep your memory nice and cool...and you can acheive higher clocks without artifacting...

Thanks.

I just tryed finding my max mem, and it went up to 520 (i couldve got it higher if i aborted and restarted).

I then put 520core and 520 mem together and it ran for 25minutes without any errors. It seems to run at 35-37 idle, and i have no idea about load, as i cant see it while playing games.
Could anyone tell me how long it should run without artifacts in ati tool to be considered stable?
My fan settings in ati tool are as follows, is this good?

Above 0, 40%
Above 35 60%
Above 45 69%
Above 55 81%
Above 60 85%
Above 65 100%?
