quick decision! today! help! motherboard choice.

Im not sure what to get. should i lurk for hours and find the coveted P5W DH Deluxe? or should I splurge another $50 on a P5WDG2 WS Pro motherboard?

The workstation board, i would think, would be much more stable and would OC higher. Ive heard reviews on it OCing to 420MHz fsb on stock vMCH.

I really dont know what to do, and I need to make a decision..

The only thing I could see bad with the workstation board is that it wouldnt have enthusiast overclocking BIOS updates. but there is a chance that it would recieve them.

I also need it before school, because I will have NO time to set it up for atleast 2 weeks after school starts, and I dont want that.. :-(

ordered a P5WDG2 WS Pro workstation motherboard. vMCH goes to 1.8v, idk what the P5W DH does.. has more stable PWM's and such, overall better board, says many reviews. Cant wait to give it a run! Thursday.

I'm saving up for an X2 3800+ too, $60 as of now!

But I'll probably get one and overclock it before Vista comes out, just to be ready for it, and prices might, just might, lower for me to buy one. IMO, my 3200+ @2.7Ghz is doing fine in almost everything I do. Just waiting if you really need dual-core for Vista.

i actually just realized the 100 bucks to get a 4400+ (89watt edition) is WORTH it as they go 3ghz + on air!!!

Eh...a 2.6-2.7Ghz X2 3800+ is fine for me. But as I said earlier, I'm waiting until Vista, and hopefully prices drop too. Hope 939 is still a great system.

Well, I'm probably going to go dual-core, then no major upgrades until I see something that's worth buying in the future. But CPU is the next major one, then video card when DX10 and Vista come out. Keeping everything until AM3 or Kentsfield, then get Quad-Core and DDR3. So keeping current system for a few years, until I got money.

I'm probably going to wait a few years though, making some upgrades like dual-core 939 and new DX10 video card, as for a whole new system, maybe 2008 or so. Hope it still can run.

i'd say you could get by with about 2 1/2 years on a 3GHz X2. If you can, save for an opteron, they OC much higher than any X2's i know.

yeah well actually there is a newer version of the 4400+ that only uses 89 watts instead of 110, this give you a lot more headroom as it runs cooler, and they have consistently been able to oc to 2.9-3ghz on the stock cooler

but i was looking at the opterons, except for they didnt go threw as much of a price drop + the chip in the 4400+ is the same as in the FX and basicly the same as the Opti
