Dude, articles from 2006 are irrelevant. Controllers have gotten much better and so have alot of other details that are included with Raid, hard drives, and motherboard(ie controllers).

Yah controllers have come a long way since the age where you had to buy a $400 PCI RAID card to get any sort of speed increase.
