So title basically says it, i've been away from the pc for a couple months and i'm easing back into my gaming and decided to try and take my casual gaming up a bit, and i've been wanting to learn how to set up a mouse for good fps or rts gaming. just the windows features, and good ways of setting up the razer software. Any tips are welcome, thanx guys.

Myself, I use my Razer Imperator on 4000 or 5200 dpi with the mouse speed (in Windows itself) set on the fourth line from the left. Were necesary, I in-or decrease mouse sensitivity in the options menu of a game. Note: I am a high-sense player.

P.S.: best disable "improve precision" in the mouse pointer screen that Windows has to retain a consistent mouse speed.

In the Razer utility i set my deathadder to
max dpi 1800 on my mouse,
poll rate 100hz,
X Y axis's on 10,
acceleration off,
sensitivity 10,
win pointer speed is about 5.5

Other than that i turn off the above mentioned improve pointer precision.

i play a good mix of games DOWI/II Starcraft MassEffect Borderlands TF2 BC2 etc and never have to adjust sensitivity in game

Depending on how much of a sensitivity freak your are there's this tweak as well

BTW, now Batou mentions it, I have turned the acceleration (in the Razer utility) off as well. Forgot about that. :)
