re-configuring for gaming

so i am no longer focused on the video editing aspect, i would like to re configure my setup to compliment gaming i have a pretty decent system but im thinking of changing the motherboard and chipset, the mobo i have now with the cooler i have no is really obstructive and i literally cannot fit any more RAM in my mobo, i dont have any real issues with my setup now im just wondering if you guys have any advice on what i should upgrade to as far as mobo and CPU to squeeze a little more performance out of it

Should be alright for gaming, maybe extra 8GB if and when you notice the system running on a pagefile and only other thing would be a SSD to cut down on some more loading times.

Other wise your pretty good, That mobo SLI ?, always the option of a second video card but would not worry about that until you have a issue in a game(s).

Then your 1st consideration/ upgrade would be a Suitable cooler that will allow you to populate all your Ram Slots
then more Ram and later a SSD as recomended by @AsRock

Or even modify the current cooler so some ram does fit.

Evo 212 has just enough clearance to fit corsair Vengence 1600 ram
so should clear your ram
and its an efficient cooler comes well recommended from quite a few members here
(including me)

i went with the large cooler to run stable temps at high clocks im not sold on switching the cooler out for a single fan cooler at this time, may consider a water block cooler like an h100 though, ill look into lower profile ram as well that maybe a good solution if i can find stable ram in a low profile i like that idea the best so far, thanks guys keep any ideas coming!

so i did a little search on new egg and found these ram sticks, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=low_profile_ram-_-20-148-663-_-Product i could do 4x4gb or 2x8gb and im pretty sure they would fit under my cooler as they dont have the big heat sinks over top of the sticks

2x8GB kit is $73.00 as well. I've never had a set not be compatible, no matter what the motherboard.

Hi,8Gb are enough for today games,dont get confused by other's..for later games u can add more ram..
With 8gb of ram i played:Gta V,Fallout 4,Battlefield Hardline,Assasin's Creed Unity,Batman:Arkham Knight,F1 2015,Grid 2,Nfs Rivals all at high>very high>ultra settings@1080p
16Gb will be later safe on u'r work,video editing..for now 8gb u can play all title's games!

Except for the games today that need more than 8. And that's just the beginning of the future.

DDR3 is on its way out. Better to get the 16 now while it's still cheap, not later as supply dwindles.

With that overclock, you'd be hard pressed to get much better w/o spending a ton of money. More memory and a better graphics card if you're looking to "squeeze" more out of what you've got. GL

thanks guys, so my SSD seems to be having issues (corrupting/losing system files, BSODs etc ive re-installed windows 3 times on this ssd due to this issue) as its pretty old so im going to grab one or two on sale cyber monday, and i think ill just bump up the ram a touch.
