rebar ON

rebar OFF

perhaps someone could tell me whats up here, and why does this happens ? it not only affects the bios visual laggyness but also in windows with certain programs like in these examples:

rebar on

rebar off

my system:
ryzen 5600x
gigabyte b550m aorus elite rev 1.0 on F17 bios version
rtx 4070 asus dual.

What keyboard and mouse are you using? It seems enabling rebar is affecting the USB polling rates?

I used to be able to recreate that kind of lag in windows using a cheap USB mouse at 500hz.

So that would be my first guess - it would make sense in the bios too - if the USB is lagging with rebar on it would have that effect.

Do you have another keyboard to try with or can you try plugging them into different ports?

^ this is from USB polling

gonna try different port, i dont have another keyboard to try sadly though, mouse is at 1000hz according to logitech hub

Try just leaving the logi plugged in and unplugging the keyboard in windows and see if it lags. It would be the keyboard since you're tabbing through bios windows.

tried this and didnt do anything either, switched the mouse port to different usb ports and nothing really.
it really is weird though.

Can you press Ctrl+Alt+F6 while in BIOS will take care of the lag issue (when CSM is disabled).
was actually doing that the only problem is that when i enter back to bios it goes laggy again and it always chooses the higher resolution available 1080p for example, and whenever i pick a lower one, quit and save, goes back to bios it goes back to the original res which would be 1080, which its also laggy in this.
always with CSM disabled.

Weird lag in the x570 Aorus Master BIOS ? read inside : gigabyte (reddit.com)

some fixes in here... potentially CSM related. Enabling CSM could fix.
enabling CSM fixes it, but rebar gets disabled, one could say is the only way around this, but it kills the Rebar functionality to disabled which is a shame.
i appreciate you taking your time trying to help me with this though :)

seems like such an old bug cant believe they havent patched this yet...

have you tried disabling fTPM?
Maybe send in a ticket to Giga support and see what they say. Ill watch this thread to see if a fix is found (please post here if you figure it out) -- good luck :toast:

yeah one would have thought they would have fixed this already, it shows how little they care.
ill try disabling ftpm, but im doubtful on this as well.
i could try sending a ticket to gigabyte but omg have you seen their site for that? anyways at best the only "solution" its simply enabling CSM and not using rebar sadly, have a good day and thanks for helping me

CSM slows down my current board's bios quite a lot.

I think its that probably rather than rebar itself.

i experience the same on my gigabyte boards with nvidia GPUs.
ReBar on with NVidia = slow, laggy bios.

I mean you could try forcing the USB ports to 2.0 / hard setting the PCIE values and whatnot- but it looks like the entire bus starts lagging without compatibility module.

I have the same issue intermittently, but haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. I've disabled fTPM, Secure Boot, and CSM.

I was able to "get rid" of it for about 4 days by clean installing Windows, reflashing my BIOS, reinstalling my mobo drivers (chipset etc), and reinstalling my GPU drivers in Safe Mode.

Today, the issue came back randomly after I woke my pc up from sleep.

The only thing that fixes it consistently is disabling Resizable BAR in BIOS.

MSI B760m Mortar WiFi, RX 6800, 12600k, 32GB DDR5, all-new system.

is this still issue to this day on other mobos? anyone else noticed Rebar disabled is better?
