Time relapse. Need some help getting this old xp computer running. I want to replace it with either a quad core intel or a xeon. Need a motherboard to pair with a graphics card and a case to match, suggestions? Thanks.

Theres a good chance that the only reusable part is the HDD.

List the computer you want to upgrade or confirm if its the one on your system specs, tell us, where are you from and how much money do you have for the upgrade,

Either or, my point being is that if I upgrade the old xp it will cost just about the same for a new one, and damn man chill out I've been busy I haven't got a chance to fire this old one up yet.

My bet is - chances are roughly 110,78352% based on my byzantine calculations - that there's probably not even a single component worth keeping. I'd recommend building a system from scratch.

Byzantine means correct, right? But yeah likely this.

And if I had that kind of money to spend on a computer I would like it to be nice all around, so that likely means a new case too.

All you need is a budget. And you can do it under a $1000 but that works

This computer is ultra balanced, pretty decent and could hanlde gaming, works, and what ever you might spit a it, you might take advantage of combos, discounts and also mail in rebates, but there is $1000 rig sir,

What's the guts of the machine? We need specifics on brand and model of power supply, motherboard, cpu, memory, hdd, that helps determine if the whole unit other than the case needs to be scrapped or if some parts are salvageable

I already want to take it apart and clean everything. Its horribly messy inside I don't understand how this company says there a professional at making computers with sloppy cable management.

Totes. Might take a Conroe, but nothing above the E6700 (if it's what I think it is).

Not junk (if you plop an E6600/E6700 in it and get at least 4GB RAM), but very, very close. Not even the case is worth it, sadly.

Those old 775 chipset were weird about what CPUs will be supported. But the network adapter says P35
