Reference NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Rumored to Launch at $749

Rumours are stock is starting to build... We'll see if there are price cuts in the second half of the year.

This thing is probably slower than the OG 10 gig 3080 in pure raster while costing more lol

50% more expensive than the 2070 and 3070 were at launch. Much smaller GPU die as well. This got to be a joke.

What's next? 4060 for $699? 4050 for $599? 4030 that can't even play modern games at 1080p for $399?

I wish no one ever bought this piece of junk.

aw hell yeah, pay 100$ more than a 3080 to get 3080-tier performance
what a steal!

Every big company's sole aim in the business is to profit the most they can from their product lines.
Not every company is equally filthy, some are particularly good at it.

I'll switch to consoles when the follow is possible.

  • Play PC Games from the 90's - 2000's era.
  • Run Steam, GOG and Epic Launchers.
  • Run applications like Photoshop and reWASD.
  • Non-Laggy Mouse and Keyboard support.
  • Run a browser with uBlock Origin support.
  • Ability to mod my games and install fan patches.
  • Convert movies to H.265 (NVENC) with Handbrake.
So for now i'll stick to a PC thank you every much.
That console is called "Steam Deck", exists for about a year and was bought by about 1 million players so far.

I actually bought one a month ago. Meh cooler aside, rather impressive.

I find this price highly unlikely, my 2c, it has to be lower. Might be interesting to see some of the member outrage here when the real price drops, and I may need to find a hat to eat, but I doubt it.

Seriously @GFreeman, can't we do better than this for news sources? I mean, it's not even news, bottom feeders spreading rumours to desperately cling to relevance, don't play into it.

Show me on the doll where the greedy company touched you  Don't worry, I jest, AMgreeD are just as bad, they hurt me too.
Here you go :peace:

And to be fair.

Though these are only gross profit numbers you can get some information on this site.

Nvidia itself should buy this card for that money.
This is robbery, not profit.

So they plan to launch a graphics card with RTX 3080 performance, three years later and for at least $50 more?

I can't find a way to express my feelings without resorting to swear words, honestly.
In most games a cheaper rx 6800 xt is faster then a rtx 3080

I still can't phantom what you're all arguing about, myself included.
This is just getting silly.
AMD is milking us just as NVIDIA does,
just like Intel does,
just like any AIB partner does.

I first wanted 7900xt, but after seeing what happened to my friend,
I wanted a 4070ti.
Now after thinking it through,
neither AMD nor NVIDIA deserves the money.

Because they are both giving a lot less than I'd pay for.
Intel ARC A770 ?

huh the green monster and leather wearing oven operator theoretically already bought each and every 40-gen card, threw them in the oven and added some raising flour and put it back out for some scalping action lol We're living in the GPU in-house scalping times and Nvidias got us by the balls.

If one believes the marketing that you need 4K, you need a million FPS, you need all the latest features, the latest version of DLSS and the latest everything, and you need them all in the latest games, and you need them now, then sure. Personally, I don't. For me, 1080p 60 FPS is just fine, I'm just as happy with old classics as with modern titles, and I don't give a rat's arse about the latest features. This is one way out of the Ngreedia money pit. The other is buying from the company that your heart can better agree with. Thankfully, competition is still a thing.

1440p 120hz/fpd feels reasonable too.

For me, 1080p 60 FPS is just fine
after trying out 4k60hz any resolution below (even 1440p) felt like a lame compromise
after trying out 1080p144hz any refresh rate below 120hz felt too slow
having moved up to 4k144hz i can compromise on neither and get to enjoy the fuck out of games :D i tried out 1440p180hz but it's still not good enough, so 4k144hz was the obvious step forward and it's no going back for me, too good

I once said in these forums "once you go 27 inch 1440p theres no looking back"... i can't shake it off. Honestly i don't give a rats arse about all the new features (incl. RT)..... just fancy something which easily manages 90-120fps depending on the game type. In most games I can't even see the difference between 90 and 144fps. Past 90, everything seems smooth enough!

By now i would have been on 4k/144 (yep im all about the eye candy) but seeing todays GPU prices I've lost all interest. 1440p for many years to come for me!

Taking nothing away from 1080/60... i had years of fun on this resolution/hz, actually more-so considering todays games are not as appealing as they once were other than the eye-candy and huge destrucible FPS MP maps (if you're into that sorta thing)

What gpu are you using for your main computer?
My main I am still using a AMD Reference 5700 that has been undervolted. It runs very cool and for all of my content work including video editing and playing games (@1440p) it does the job well.

When building a rig there are many areas that can slow down your performance. You just have to know of them as well what exactly you want out of your rig.

Mine is a full blown multimedia rig that runs cool and uses low voltage compared to stock as well as what is being produced out there. Considering that my Electric bill doubled from last year I can say I did not have to worry about costs than those desktops that has a secondary function as a space heater. That might be great in the winter but not in the summer.
