Watercooling temps

i got a question does a full/half full res give beter cooling then having an allmost empty one?

The more water there is the more water there is to heat up, so yes more water is better. Plus with an almost empty res., there is more chance of air leaking into the loop.

Seems a tad high for a i7 at 3.2Ghz especially for 3 rads. Not sure how big your rads are. But this review is with a single 3x120. So many variables..fan speeds, amount of coolant, ambient...

My system running off of the air cooled v8 at 3.2 ghz idols around 44C, with an i7. Either your ambient temperature is way high, or something is off in your setup.

My I7 920 right now is idling at 27-35c on the cores...load goes up to 72c 1-120 rad and 1-140 rad, half inch tubing.....so so pump (Changing soon).....running at 4200Mhz at 1.3125 with HT on.....NO power saving features on....full speed all the time.

On water in a cool finished basement. :pimp:

What sorta fans you using on the rads? What make are the rads? Have you made sure the blocks and everything are applying decent pressure? What size tubing? What pump?

something seems off. when u stated the equipment you're using was that in the order of the loop? make sure its going through your rads before it hits ur cpu because u said pump>cpu>rad1>rad2>rad3>resevior. Shouldn't this be pump>rad1>rad2>rad3>cpu>res???
this would yeild better temps if im not mistaken yes?.It's the rads which are cooling the water, so its best to have your cpu straight after the rads otherwise the water just sits in the res and warms up before it gets to the cpu.

distilled water is from what i herd the best cooling. change over to that and change it to res/pump/rad1/rad2/rad3/cpu/res

When going for more coolant+water get a bigger reservoir like a 1-gallon (4-liter) glass pickle jar.

The glass will help dissipate the heat better. Wash the glass pickle jar out with distilled vinegar first.

On cool nights, i place my jar outside the bedroom window while playing Halo online.
