Personally, I like Titanfall but the removal of game types is not a smart move on their part. However I never played CTF or Pilot hunter except maybe a few times so I won't personally miss them and it sounds to me like people were not playing them either. I just want them to focus and add more to the game as time goes on which if thats the case and removing these game modes helps, more power to them.
As far as BF4 and EA goes, it just got released to early because they wanted to stomp CoD. Which if they had just waited CoD kinda stomped itself this time and waiting an extra month might have made the game significantly better at launch. The game is just fine now and plays really nicely and is alot of fun to me at least and my group of friends I play it with.
Not defending EA for it, they force the releases many time to early which causes the problems that we experience. But as long as the game gets fixed im happy at the end of the day which in BF4's case has been done.
