RotTR still seeing prompts with Show button hints Off

Just started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, and to my surprise the most annoying thing is not the performance, seems to run fine at pretty decent settings. It's that even with Show button hints set to Off, I don't see any change. I thought this was supposed to remove the redundant and constant onscreen prompts telling you what damn button to press for just about everything you press a button for.

So can anyone tell me what hints this option is supposed to turn off? Better yet, anyone know of a mod to disable the damn onscreen prompts? I don't see any setting in the menu that accomplishes that. The game is gorgeous, but all that text is pointless and kills immersion.

try look for option about tutorial or hints. with show button you've turned off on screen glow on traks, objects etc not hints themself

Seems instead you're talking about the options under Gameplay, where you can turn off Survival Instinct Beacons, and Survival Instinct glows, which I already had turned Off.

I'm talking about the option under Keyboard & Mouse, where you can set Show button hints to Off, which is exactly what I explained above.
