Well..... disappointed :(
The performance is just ok-ish imo and the fact that it does not overclock at all.....well I guess ill be awaiting the "I told you so" responses.

Guess this is not going to be my next card.

Surely they could find a better place for the 6 pin connector.

Not exactly astounding results. I mean, it is considering it basically achieves R9 390X speeds with half the bus width and I think it also has less shaders at lower power consumption, but still. If you're buying a new card, I guess it's a good option. But if you already own last generation from both, AMD or NVIDIA, you have to skip this one or wait for higher end parts from Vega range. Or at least RX 490. Though from the looks of it, RX 490 will just compete with 390X and GTX 980...

oh? where then? the card itself is shorter then the cooler, its placed at the edge of the actual card.

They'd have to add connection extenders to route the power plug to the end of the card.

stick it on the short end with the cables running through the fan assembly.

@RejZoR I think it is only ment to be a mid range card. R9 390x performance for £200. £200 and you can play any game at max settings at 1080p. Cool and quite, only draws 150 watts max I think. Great for a cheep gaming rig. I have a 980ti under water but I think this AMD card is great.

It may basically only be GTX 970 results, but come on people. It's using less power and maxing out games on 1080p and is respectable at 1440p, all at an extremely reasonable price! I think AMD have a winner here.

I remember that guy in the video lost his website cause of bad business deals.

I'd rather wait for a trusted review a la TPU.

If it was trading blows with a 970 it would be a hit.....but on this review its getting trounced most of the time and trading blows with the 290 mostly. But its still early......we'll see better reviews as the day goes on.

I don't know what you were expecting from a AMD Card :slap:
Maybe a miracle?
If i get 1€ every time AMD disappoint their customers today i would be rich:p

You're right, let's wait for better reviews.

However, I offer this up: "trounced" is relative. What I saw was a card that had all very playable framerates at 1080p, which if we're honest, is what this card was intended for. I don't care if another card got 68 fps in a game whe the 480 gets 60 (as an example). That 60 is absolutely perfect unless one has bionic eyes.

Just some thoughts to chew on. :-)

ITS NOT AMD'S FAULT!
Its the internet........uber-hyping. 99% of the people who troll Amd....don't really troll Amd, but troll those that over hype Amd. Like somehow thy're gonna Level up Amd on hype alone....

@rtwjunkie
My bad i was believing the hype when they(not Amd) said it was on the 980's level.

oh dont get me wrong, I am disappointing with Nvidia's new cards as well.
I feel progress is just going too damn slowly in general

Guys this is not 100% Accurate video, i only posted just to get an idea, wait for a review in TPU for some more accurate results, they may be the same but they may defer , you never know from 1 video.

2 more :

Also TPU just reviewed so check it out.

This card isn't meant to be a high end option yet it delivers somewhat high end results with a mid range price point. I've owned nVidia cards for years now but you guys are being biased and uninformed about the results from this card. Also, overclocking performance could be revealed in later driver releases which is something AMD has been making huge improvements on. I think the red team has a winner here and this is just the start!

Also the aftermarket coolers may improve the OC, if they add another 6pin and with some custom bios .. i think this card is a legit one and one of the best on the market if not the best for 95% of the users.
Cheap that can play all games on 1080p 60fps and most on 1440p 60fps(some settings in games just lower your fps without any noticeable graphic change so its a legit card for 1440p too).
