hey all,

so i had a mining card (XFX RX 480 XXX 8GB) that i flashed back to a compatible bios. Whenever i try to edit it with red bios editor for TDP and power limits, i get a black screen and must reflash the unmodified bios.

is there a way to have a modded bios with adjusted power settings and keep my uefi boot screen? thanks.

Has the modified bios the same part number as the unmodified bios? It sounds like a total different bios was flashed

hey there, thanks for the help everyone. it turns out that with polaris (rx 480/ rx 580), you will likely need to run pixel clock patcher to sign the bios. you will not have video until you get to windows, so it is best to leave one of your bios switches unmodified

Pixel clock patcher does not sign the bios! Its a workaround! It disables the bios signature check from the AMD driver.

That is inaccurate

thanks for the correction, y'all. I misunderstood as it actually signing the bios, rather than bypassing the signature check. in any event, it does work now. thank you again for all your help
