Hello guys.

Last year I bought an RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB from used market. It turnedout that it was used for mining, sadly I wasn't paying attention the small details like mem and core clock when I was at that guy to buy it.

So after a while of testing I've observed the clocks that were pretty suspicious and I realized it was used for mining. I proceeded to check the secondary bios and it was flashed too, but with a broken one.
I after cleaning it, replacing pads and thermal paste, I did flash a 1340/2000 bios for that it is working without problems. This one I've flashed on the position close to I/O. Then I thought ok, I will flash the performance bios too, 1411/2000, on the oposite position.

At a first glance it seemed to work.

But then I tested it a few minutes in Forza Horizon 5 it is crashing and it gives me a Radeon Report pop-up (so the driver is crashing). I have to mention that before flashing bios I've checked the memory on the GPU, and it is Hynix, exactly how it was saying on the mining bios. The sad part is that I have lost the mining bios since then as it past quiet some time.

I have attached screenshots with 1340 and 1411 bios I have flashed and photos with the lables on the card.

If you could help me with it I would be thankful.

Currently it looks you already have the correct bioses with Hynix support:
Performance: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191898/sapphire-rx580-8192-170323
Silent: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/192068/sapphire-rx580-8192-170323-1

Please remove the cooler so you can confirm the part number on the memory itself.

there are a lot of BIOS for that card with the same revision number but some have looser memory timings. try one of those instead. try the bottom one on this list

I will do that tonight (in about 5 hours).

Can you recommend some thermal pads or a replacement for thermal pads? Last time I've bought some from Aliexpress as I couldn't find any 0.75mm on my local market (Europe Romania).

Sorry, I can't help you with that. If the thermal pads still looks fine, you can try to reuse the existing ones on the cooler/card.

The earlier provided bioses are correct. Does those crashes only happen in one game or multiple?

Forza Horizon 5, CS2, RDR2, Call of Duty Warzone. At least those were the games I've tested last time.

Now after assembly, I've run a furmark stress test and after a few minutes it started to glitch. But no crash, until now. I will try a different bios.

So with a different bios, furmark is still glitching after a while but this time it is different. And now on Forza Horizon 5, instead of starting to glitch after a first loop of benchmark, it just freezes and then crash to desktop.

Last attachment is how it looks with the bios I've flashed now.

Could it be the VRM's temp? Maybe my pads aren't doing a good job?

Looks like faulty memory :-( Are all thermal pads on the memory still present and making good contact?
You can try is to lower clock the memory and see if it stays stable.

Now, I can't understand why it would work without problems on 1340 MHz core clock bios (silent bios or whatever they call it). I can even increase mem clock to 2250 Mhz and set power tuning to +20%.

I see a checkerboard pattern in the pictures which you normally see with problems with the memory.

What happens if you do power tuning -20% with the performance bios?

It's stil crashing in Forza Horizon 5 in benchmark at the half of the run. In furmark it takes longer this time to make the fur donut glitching. My brother said that he'll be using it with silent bios as long as it doesn't crash. Though, I can say that I've experienced the same problem on an RX 580 Nitro+ SE, exactly the same problem. Silent bios was working perfectly, performance bios was crashing. Maybe I've done something wrong?
