RX 7700XT - Which model to pick?

I've just read that Starfield (my cause of upgrade) is a CPU eater and the 7800XT wouldn't suffice with that i5 even for 1080p hehehe...
TF is that game?!

I guess my CPU upgrade would have to be sooner now lol

it's very unoptimized for sure.

Yeah that really sucks probably why he was still rocking a 1650 super. Hopefully wages are half decent. I make a habit of looking up avg wages in a country before trying to help anyone and in Isreal it seems to be about 3000 usd which isn't bad, cost of living is only 10% lower than the united states though but rent is 40% lower so there is that at least.

Of course just like with any country someone could be making way more or way less.
eh 3000$/month I'd wish haha, as you said someone could be making X/Y. but overall it's ok.

I've been gaming occasionally at minimum performance demands until lately that I saw few games such as Cyberpunk, Starfield and few more which made me wanna make a lil upgrade and get decent experience & FPS.

Never feel bad about wanting to upgrade people act like they know your situation and your life history and try to rain on your parade those type of people must be really fun at parties.....

Yeah ofc mate, upgrade is great anyhow. paired with decent but better cpu, mobo and even cheap extra ram and this would be a little monster lol :)

What's so good about it? He got the same 2020 performance of the RX 6800 XT for more money than in 2020? This is a regression, not a progress!
You do have the memory of a goldfish. OP said the 6800 XT is not available in his (/her) country anymore. Besides, the 6800 XT was rarely, if ever available for MSRP. Even now, it's more expensive here in the UK than the 78000 XT.

I have found a 6800XT 16GB which costs almost 950$ (and it's sold that way on the same store I've got the 7800XT for 750$, not talking about a 6950XT that sold in almost 1500$) prices are all over the place, I think those are marketing moves to promote what they want...

So even if the 6800XT has almost similar overall power results on FPS, after all the feedbacks and readings about the 7800XT it offers even higher speeds, bandwith etc... also having some new technologies (RDNA3 etc.. which im not an expert of the area but..) and here it's 200$ LESS. so I don't think it was a bad move at all.

Not only that, but if the store got it at a higher price than the 7800 XT, then they can't sell it cheaper without incurring a loss. That's why I saw a 2080 Super for 750 GBP at a UK store just a couple of weeks ago.

Absolutely! :)

I always get the cheapest one if I won't something better I just buy the next model.
Last time broke my rule with 7800xt got the Asrock Phantom it felt really important to get that extra 2% performance increase :D
That and there is no next one up that's $100 more otherwise I would have bought that.
Even though it did OC as good as the Wizz card he reviewed here.

You have a memory of a troll.
RX 6800 XT was sold for its MSRP many months after its release. Your trolling won't change the history :D

Then maybe OP should borrow Doc Brown's time machine to go back to the past and buy one. Solid argument through and through.

Even if you're right, you're not helping. At all.

The price difference is minimal 13-14%.
While the RX 6800 XT is the better and faster card, 18%-27% faster..

Yeah, pay 70 quid more to be faster in one game, where it doesn't even matter because your framerate is so high that you can't even see the difference anyway. Makes a ton of sense. :kookoo:

Do you want to bet that it's not just one game but many games?!
That graph is fake - there are more games in which the RX 6800 XT is the better and faster card, but there are also several games in which for some reason the performance difference is high enough to shift it in the wrong direction.

Makes a ton of sense.

I think the same about people willing to spend that much money for much inferior specifications and confusing themselves that they made a "good" deal.
Good but in another dimension. :nutkick:

Right, I had a look - out of the 25 games that TPU tested in the 7800 XT review, the 6800 XT was faster by literally a couple of FPS (unnoticeable margin of error) in 5, and noticeably faster in 2 games. In the rest, the 7800 XT is way faster, sometime even by the 6900 XT. Everybody can draw the conclusion.

The guy is a troll, people come here for advice and they get literal garbage opinions.

Well as much as its abit dissappointing, I still had nothing to do with it besides buying that 6800XT for 950$. Let's re-phrase the thread. would it be better? I'm not with/or against anyone. but I don't get the point over here honestly.

The best AMD GPU prices are Sapphire Pulse, Asus Dual and As Rock Challenger. Of those cards the Pulse and Challenger are probably the least expensive but there would be no RGB. If you want RGB Gigabyte are the next step up but they use an automatic process to manufacture their GPUs and it does not apply enough paste to the die. That results in high temps and random shutdowns at the most extreme. Of course those cards also have the least amount of screws if you want to put it on water or replace the Thermal Paste.

Would pick cheapest one. Does not matter which brand. All have good coolers and are quite.

P.S. no clue about china gpu's.

The TPU review is not representative. Because there are 2500 games, out of which only 25 were tested :D

This is something wrong about your position. I already told you that 950$ is not a normal price and you can get the card for its MSRP!

But it was not possible mate, once I've read your feedback I did ask about the 6800XT in the store because I wanted an answer for why it costs so much as its older than the new line they started to sell for less money. The seller wouldn't have a straight answer honestly, but they wouldn't want to sell it for less, they said that's the price currently.

If you say I could get it for MSRP you might be talking about ordering online, but if so, still the tax fees and shipping to my area blows the price high to the sky.

Then please test it with 2500 games and report back the results.

TPU tests with those 25 games because they're relevant. Or do you seriously want to know how fast your graphics card is in Doom 2? You should look in the mirror before accusing others of trolling.

Yeah I just saw in newegg 7900XTXs running for that price.
