RX480 4GB flashed with 8GB vbios?

I bought online used RX 480 4GB (please see pics attached to verify stickers on it and memory type - picture 1 & 2 & 3 & 4).
It didn`t accept any driver (error 43) so I`ve ended trying to flash stock bios with ATIFlash and after that all I could get was black screen. I`ve tried 1+8 way and PC booted on internal graphic with RX480 plugged in.

CMD atiflash -i is giving me error as on picture 5.

When I removed bridge from pins 1+8 I can run ATI flash and it looks like on photo 6. I`ve noticed that ATI Flash don`t want to accept any vbios for 4GB, it only allow to flash 8GB vrom but after that PC booting only to black screen. Stickers on card is saying it`s 4GB version so i presume that previous owner flashed it with 8GB vbios and get some missmatch- am I right?

CPU-Z and Memory Info pics are 7 & 8.

Is there a way to make that card work again?

I`ll appreciate any help. Greetings from Poland!

Sorry - I don`t understand?
PS. offtopic question. I`m newbie to this forum and I don`t get how it works. I`ve recived 2 separate emails saying that I`ve recived reply to my thread. I`m checking here and there is only 1 answer, from 1 user. How is that possible?

At a glance from the pictures and looking in our database, my guess is that's an MSI Gaming X 4GB card, probably used for mining hence the memory clock in comparison with the stock MSI spec, did you try a forced flash? ………...

Edit: And it looks like from what you have said that they force flashed it to the 8GB version maybe to get the memory speed upto 2000mhz..........................

No, I didn`t tried to force flash yet.
No, I don`t know if someone have flashed 8GB version vbios. I`m just saying that ATI flash don`t want accept to flash it with 4GB vbios.

Assuming you re-started the PC after the flash and it failed then there are AMD flashing tools that allow bypass of signatures and ID's but for the life of me I cannot find the link, your original problem regarding drivers not installing is likely to be because the previous owner flashed the card and the drivers do a signature verification check on installation which his flash is likely to have borked, it may well be the issue now too with this flash.

I'm pretty sure you should have 2 different numbers for subsystem ID and device ID which yours doesn't in those GPU-Z pics, they both read 1002 67DF which is the device ID, the subsystem ID should be completely different. Try this file first, I'm looking for others. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191362/191362

The list I narrowed down btw is: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=Uploads&manufacturer=MSI&model=RX+480&version=015.050.000.000.000000&interface=&memType=&memSize=4096&since=

Thanks, I`m trying it now. Will post results.
PS. Should I try to basic flash and if it won`t help then force flash too?

Just replace the 0 with your rom file.

1+8 bridge? ah ok, just seen your OP, I can't comment on that as I have never had to do it for a flash before.

Uninstall the driver, then flash with correct BIOS, restart and then Reinstall driver.
From memory model number, it looks like your card is 4GB, so dont flash 8GB BIOS.

The only other thing I can think of is try to install the drivers again after trying the signature bypass patch, I have never needed to use it but I do know that with some 460/470/480 cards that have been forced flashed the signature which the drivers verify the hardware is borked, here is a link to some info on it and a download, it at least may get the card working until someone comes along with hopefully a solution...…..

Worst case you may need to install older drivers referred to in the link above which can be found here...…...

OK, will try it but how does drivers could work if my GPU doesn`t start without 1+8 bridge at all?

Are you in a position to open a dispute with the seller? at this point and the things you have done and it still doesnt work, I'd just bite the bullet and get a refund
