Hello,

I am having some issue with a RX580 Sapphire second hand card I recently bought.
The bios that was on the card was showing it as "Unknown" and the mining software I am using (hiveos) does not recognize it. I've tried to flash different versions but non make it start.
Any suggestions on what it might be , or where I can find a suitable bios for it?

I am posting a picture with its serial number. Unfortunate I can't boot in windows with it as I have a server that does not pass boot when I plug it in.
After I flashed a bios it shows as a Hynix memory, buy it does not start and the memory it is not displayed.

I've managed today to get the CPU-z on it.
Is it hardware problem with it as it shows a bus of 32 bit and 0 memory.

You have no graphics driver installed

You have the wrong Bios on the card.
You have E387 and the card is a E353.

Here's a bunch for that card I.D.

I tried multiple versions today and could not really make it work. I end up with this, where I actually see something on the screen.
On some of the versions I was getting an id mistmatch.

In other cases Windows was going in blue screen with a Thread stuck in driver issue.

History:
i have not changed anything driver/setting/bios/ for a month or so. it was working fine at a hashrate of 31 Mh normally. today it rig was cleaned with air blower and put it back and this error occurs.

Workout:
i have done everything from plug unplugged changed wires, riser but nothing, i can see memory type but no capacity its very wired. my thoughts if memory chip is damaged how come we can see the chip type or this can happen, no idea. may be bios got corrupted.

if anyone have solution kindly suggest.

Regards

Hello
After i read the entire post, i noticed that you flashed (at least when you put picture) a wrong BIOS in your card.
Caring1 was pointing to the problem, as you have flashed a E387 BIOS in it as long as your card it is E353.
On the other hand i would propose to open the card to check exact type of memory.
Make a picture of the memory chip and put it here

impero,

The post above was not my case where wrong bios was flash/ incorrect driver however, i am facing similar issue. i am still looking for an answer. I replied in similar post to see if the originator got his issue resolved or not. So other reading this thread may not need to search more. and it could be marked as solved.

Ok, so you basically did not altered any software.
But instead you put out the card, you cleaned it and as i understand you just clean it w/o opening it.
And when you put it back to mainboard you obtained that error ?
OK...let's try one step at a time.
1st reboot in safe mode and use DDU to uninstall the drivers.
After rebooting normally, reinstall drivers.
That error has to do with memory that is not read correctly.
Maybe you are lucky and a driver reinstall will help.
Keep us informed.
You could make a GPU-z picture also to see what you got there

Yes no changes. cleaned with air blower to remove dust. yes and problem started of no memory capacity issue.
i am using hiveos so (linux based system) do i have to do it on a windows based system?
next step i changed the rig position and second put it in different rig same issue. i will post cpu-z picture as soon as i get it running on a windows OS.

Ok. From what you say i understand that you use the video card for mining - in HiveOS.
Ok. Keep in mind that the Linux based system created for mining (HiveOS) all are set up to work for mining.
Please be so kind and take off all the rest of video cards from the system, go to BIOS and set up the integrated video card as default, put ONLY this card with problems in PCIex 16x not in riser.
Do not put yet the power cord in it. Leave it off until you finish to install Windows 10.
Then disconnect the HDD or SSD with HiveOS and put a new hdd and install from zero a Windows 10 pro.
Install all drivers until in device manager won't see any errors.
Now it is time to shut down computer, plug in the power cord to video card.
Now boot computer and clean install the video drivers.
After video drivers are installed DO NOT restart.
Use atikmdag patcher 1st.
After you receive the message that drivers were patched then you can restart computer.
And keep us informed how it went.

Dear Eidairman 1,
I managed to resolve the issue by switching between the bios manually at bottom. did tried another modded rom. no way it sucks

What are you talking about?

I asked for sticker pic info, also a gpu-z screenshot of working bios will work.
