S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Developer Is Victim of Hacker Group, GSC Game World Issues Statement

As a developer myself (no games, tho), I will tell you you can find drama and dirt in pretty much every company, if that's what you're looking for. On top of that, some years ago I have worked with people who had part of their team in Kyiv. They were "not nice", to put it mildly.
Despite all that, I'm still going to preorder.

NB I am not telling anyone to do the same. Even my initial post was just my wishful thinking, nothing more.
I recalled what he was saying re these Devs, the details have faded but I do recall some of it and my gut switched to ,oh yeah!!, that is why metro series, yes series of games exist.
Yet 2 isn't out yet, like who parted with the talent , ,,was Gsc a dick?!? \{°°)/ I dunno, but the hackers were, I will buy in, when it's out and I'll consider the preorder.

Shit I'm flakey today

Developers are like that. If you have 3 of them in a team, they will want to do the job 3 different ways. With the data at hand, I cannot tell if there was something seriously wrong over there or just your run-of-the-mill, developer stubbornness. Full disclosure, I wasn't really following the story.

It was a long time ago, I recall reading something in Edge about it pre decent .net time's, but the details escaped me, I believe Zonedynamo recalls more than me and not incorrectly AFAIK.

Like when I read his post I was struck by the feeling I used to have them (Gsc) in EA territory of DNT, stay away , like Nintendo (I know that hurts some, but I'm Sega , deal with it :/ :)) :D :D

I don't think you really have them in EA territory. They're much smaller, they can only mess up the few titles they have. But I hear you.

For me the bottom line with Stalker and its dev GSC has ALWAYS been that they never truly produced a high quality game. I mean... the engine was always a messy affair; every game had countless bugs and stability issues, straight up half finished stuff and/or open ended narrative and pretty shaky quest lines too.

The games still nailed it on other aspects. But they also aged pretty badly. Gun physics... pretty painful too imho. So Stalker 2... I really hope they took a long look at other shooters because theyre going to have to make a giant leap to get to avg current day norm.

At least the first one was even improved by a community patch. I'm not sure that works in favor of the developers, but I think it was actually part of the charm. And they were kinda pioneering new DX stuff, like sun rays and things like that.

Yeah it reminds me of Bethesda community care and that on its own says enough about the vanilla product :)

I also vividly remember the engine crash messages on startup.

I had it easy, I played it years after launch. It was solid by then.

Ehh, if I said what I actually thought about GSC's position I would probably get banned. One thing, though - removing the Russian language from the game was a mistake. Yes, even with the war taken into account.
