S95B (OLED TV) with HDMI VRR disabled has a sharper and punchier image?

While trying to overclock my S95B to 144 Hz (works; VRR at 144 Hz doesn't work), I randomly noticed that the image sharpness in motion / motion clarity is sharper when VRR is disabled (both at 120 Hz). Now with 144 Hz and no VRR the image motion clarity has improved so much over 120 Hz with VRR enabled. I also feel like the image is punchier, but it may come from the image being sharper, idk. Am I imagining things or is it worth instigating further? Asking various AIs confirms this and found a few forum posts who noticed this as well (different OLED TV). (VRR was enabled through NVIDIA Settings -> "X Server Display Configuration" -> "Advanced..." -> "Allow G-SYNC on monitor not validated as G-SYNC Compatible").

Trust your eyes!
You are only here to please them.

I´ll adopt my Samsung VN Panel findings.
So test everything mr. QD-OLED

It took me 2 weeks to get my TV where it needs to be.
Play around a little more with the remote.
Test all viable options.

input singnal plus (check)
hdmi black level (- or auto)
local dimming (--)
contrast enhancer (--)
HDR Tone mapping (to taste)
color tone (++)
gamma
shadows (-)

In windows test:

AUTO! vs RGB vs 4.4.4

Auto looks sometimes best - can´t tell you why

And now for the hard part:

You only have "FreeSync Premium" my man.

That it isn´t compatible only means Samsung did not opt to turn VVR on as the default-mode.

That they do with TVs that get shipped out with the "Pro" Variant.
always check the fine print

Good luck finding your "sweet-spot" settings.
