Sweet 7000 mb/s. That's close to pcie gen 4 max speed of around 7500 mb/s.

I already have a Samsung 950 PRO in my X58 system and that has worked very well for the 3 years I have been using it now.

So this SSD 7s very likely to be my next boot drive.

Because it doesn't exist in another name.
2-bit/cell was simply the next step from SLC, that's why it's viewed as MLC (MLC sounds way better than Dual Level Cell + considering how "DLC" suffix doesn't associate with pleasant stuff for gamers - marketing guys knew back then what they were doing).

At this point, it's a basic square vs. rectangle problem (ie. all squares are rectangles, while not every rectangle is a square). Our 2-bit/cell memory is a "square", while MLC name is a "rectangle" in this comparison.

We went from Single Level Cell (SLC) to Multi Layer Cell (MLC) over 10 years ago.
Since "multi" in english language means basicly "more than one", it doesn't enforce anyone into using only 2-bit/cells in MLC devices.
Or at least, that's how marketing departments of SSD manufacturers view it now.
So, at the moment, "MLC" = everything that uses memory with more than one bit per cell.
"MLC" name is viewed better than TLC in consumer devices, and from what I gather - manufacturer simply needs to add "3-bit" or "4-bit" designation after "MLC" text, to be fine from legal point of view.

In short : Always check how many bit's memory has given device in notes/spec sheet, instead of relying only on MLC/TLC/QLC text.
