Yes you can but not with a consumer platform, that was my point.

I'd just like to cast my vote that Skulltrail / SR-2 / SR-X are definitely not consumer platforms. These guys are highly customized boards based off the server/workstation chipsets. "Prosumer" perhaps, but definitely not "consumer."

Kinda like how you can buy a pro level DSLR in the Canon 1D or Nikon D3, but even though they're not exactly Hasselblads, they're hardly aimed at the regular consumer either.

The same could be argued for x58 and x79.
Server chipsets ...

There are server versions of 1155/6, 1366, and 2011.
You can actually get 2p 2011 board for cheaper than some high end 2011 gamer boards.

What is consumer... is what the audience is willing to consume.
Mainstream? Perhaps not. But stability wise... SR2/SRX are not workstation class.

oh and ... DDR4 is for 2011-3
