Running my DDR2 at 1000MHZ 5-5-5-15, which, if I'm not mistaken, is pretty competitive with low-end DDR3 :P

So Samsung is tired of competing and wants Intel to move to an unnecessary new standard so they can have less competition. Sorry, if you can't compete, get out of the race.

I can tell ya one thing for sure when they do go ddr4 it will be an evo motherboard within a generation but near its end ,so they can get an extra upgrade surge goin then 2 months later bam maxwell:p

Too early i just got ddr3 for the only reason that they were cheaper than ddr2.

i remember this news from gsmarena and no body believed me that time o.O

Other than lower voltage and a bit higher bandwidth DDR4 will bringing to the table a new controller. The days of dual, triple and quadchannel will be over. Each channel on the memory controller will connect directly to a module.

Sounds like DDR3 prices may actually get a bit cheaper before they get more expensive. I've been thinking about building another server with 40GB+ of RAM ;)

Not in terms of power usage.

We're almost there!

Friend bought a Samsung F4 2TB for $169 two months ago.

I bought one for $149 one month ago.

Now you can get them for $129.

At next drop, hopefully to $109 or lower, I'll probably be ready to grab 6.
