Sandy Bridge and 2133mhz memory problems

So I upgraded my rig with higher frequency memory - specifically the Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB DDR3 2400MHz (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11, 10-11-11-25-2T timings, 1.65v). They are run at the aforementioned settings, with the XMP profile enabled, having the frequency lowered to 2133mhz as that is what SB supports. However, after installing the ram kit, I have encountered several BSOD's.

Event viewer shows three events which happens when the computer BSOD's:
1) "Critical - Event 41, Kernel-Power".

2) "Error - Event 1001, BugCheck - The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff802226b2efb, 0xffffa78077628d20, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\041317-10031-01.dmp".

3) "Error - Event 6008, EventLog - The previous system shutdown at X:X:XX PM on ‎X/‎X/‎XXXX was unexpected."

Should I lower the voltage of my ram sticks down from 1.65v, and if so, by how much? Also, how do I go about lowering the timings of the sticks to make it stable? I guess these are the main two ways of going about stabilizing it so I do not get the BSOD anymore. It should also be noted that I did try to lower the frequency from 2133mhz to 1866mhz, but it still runs into BSOD after running the computer for everything from a day to a week. I am hoping that I can get it to run stable at 2133mhz, as that was the primary reason I upgraded my ram in the first place. Further, would it be smart to up the VCCIO? Basically, any advice on how to make these run is highly appreciated, as I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to this. My 2500k and RX 470 is run at stock speeds without any OC, but I would like to OC after I get these ram sticks stable.

My setup:
Motherboard: ASROCK Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
CPU: 1x Intel Core i5-2500K
GPU: 1x Sapphire Nitro RX 470 8GB
PSU: 1x Corsair 850W TX V2
RAM: 1x Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB DDR3 2400MHz (Old kit: CORSAIR 8192MB Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz CL9 KIT)
HDD: 1x Samsung SSD 840 EVO 512gb, 1X 1TB samsung HDD
Case: 1x COOLERMASTER RC-932-KKN5
CPU Cooler: 1x Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
 
From someone who was trying to do this 3 years ago with a gigabyte board.

Just dont waste your time. You won't see any benefit, tighten up timings if you can.

SB supports 1600mhz memory, you might be able to get 1866mhz working but past that is a stretch. Just up the Multi with an appropriate stable voltage, you'll get 4.0+ with ease and then just game til your hearts content!
 
I have that board and ram! I can run it at 2133, but only at cl11

I had to use 1.155v VCCIO (VTT in the asrocks bios) I also lowered the CPU PLL voltage to 1.75 as this is set too high by default

Nice! Full timings? Do you run it at 1.65V for ram voltage, and is the CPU overclocked?

Looking up your RAM, Why are you doing 1.65? DDR3 hasn't been specked for 1.65 since the early days. Most RAM for SB boards is made for 1.5v, and your RAM also appears to be so if I found the right one. DDR3 RAM voltage requirements have even gone below 1.5v as well with low power models.

I ask, because if you've been running high voltage all this time on the previous set when not needed, then the IMC may be shot on your CPU.

Mine is the 2400mhz model. That's why it's set at 1.65v I think. I couldn't find the 2133mhz model at 1.5v in my country so I had to go for the 2400mhz 1.65v instead.
 
I just use the 11-13-13-31 XMP timings for 2400@2133 and 2t cr
The timings arent great, i just couldnt be arsed messing about with it any more

This old asrock tool i keep about for windows fan control lists all the voltages i adjust:

I could probably go lower on the dram voltage, i began testing at lower voltages than 1.65, got as far as 1.635 then never got round to testing any more..lol, this has been rock solid for over a year now

Thank you :) You only set the offset voltage, no use of turbo boost voltage? Also, what's your LLC set at?

Stress test before you start overclocking the CPU. you might run into issues later on ;)
 
Yeah, just offset, with llc set to 2 its at 1.36v under load
