Hi all,

I bought a sapphire ATi x1600xt 256MB DDR3 and I got some questions.
First using the Atitool 0.025 beta11 says that the temp is over 90C!!!I got an aerogate II and says ~42C full load, also I touch the heatsink and seams to be OK.Next atitool says that the card works only with 4 pipelines than 12!!There are aslo problems with artifacts,I tried Catalyst 6.1 and seems to be better than 5.11 but the problem has no end here.I don't know what to do....what's going on here?!

The Radeon x1600 has 4 pipelines with 3 shader processors in each pipeline, hence 12 pixel shader processors. If you didnt know this, it would be a good idea that you should return your card and get a different one.

Is your fan speed at 100% when these temperatures occured? If the fan speed is low that might be one (of probably many) reasons that you are artifacting.

You should be able to install that VGA cooler with no problems but I recommend that the fan in that VGA cooler should be in performance mode.
