SLI with different cards

First off i wanted to thanks you guys, for the amazing job you did. SO thanks
P!nkpanther thanks Pretentious and also all Peoples who had participated. Thank You !

It's been two days on it actually i manage to make it work yesterday with patcher 1.7 and drivers , the last one who did work with that method don't exactly remembers. But because there is a but it's worked the time to make 2 benchmarks with not a nice performance improvement actually it looked more like a loose of performances and after that BOSD screens i had to uninstal everythings and go back to read forum.

Foward backwards until now 30 mn before i managed to make it run with the 418.81 drivers the offset edited buy Pretentious. the edit was all good then sli was displayed ,the system seems stable but unfortunately the nvidia display shut down... Not the Os only nvidia diplsay that not displaying anymore...

Anyway positives stuff is that i could have make recognise my 1070 and 1060 and it did work both together but after that nvidia display manager dispared Drivers stil displayed in power gpu , i think drivers still work but the sneaky nvidia windwow is not here anymore

So i'm wondering what could have gone wrong . But it's not all bad because its worked and i don't have anymore BOSD but its kinda a sucks that i couldn't have done even one benchmark...

If anyone can understand where was i failed what i have done wrong it would be great to understand. I join a picture of gpuz pictures also some others stufs and really hope we could figure this out.

Hi, i don't think you can enable SLI with (mixed GPU) GTX 1060+ GTX 1070, SLI option will be visible in nv control panel but you'll get black screen after enabling it.(which means drivers crashed). I have tried SLI-ing with GTX 1050ti+1080, 1070+1080, 780+780Ti, they never worked.
Also older method of using dsli patcher 1.7 no longer works with newer drivers.
I can confirm, upto 4way SLI works with GTX 1050ti and GTX 1060 6GBs. This even works with older low performance GPU like dual GT720s.
You can follow my post #3076 to do all this in simple steps.
Post #3160 is to restart whole process easily, if something gets messed up.
Post #3218 has offset for driver 425.31 by @Pretentious

Knew that was not possible anymore running the patch with drivers over 2 8.

Anyway i managed to do what i wanted i mean with event viewer that gave me hex number i can also modify folder with snowman so the idea is to do the trick by changing the type of display device and also using this as the patch dou you think that can be donne this way. IT's should be technicly possible to get all we need as coordinate. One it's done repack drivers with NVSlimmer. and apply thiq with NVSlimer by puting the modified sys file inside the drivers instal

From your description I can't figure out what exactly the problem is, but let me just tell you that even if it worked, SLIing a 1070 with a 1060 can only gain you +25% over a single 1070 theoretically. In practice, mostly due to the lack of SLI bridge, it's probably close to zero.

I wonder if we could try to SLI 2 1660ti. Someone was able to combine 2 2060, so maybe it works with the new 1600 series too.
I'm trying to patch the sys file but I always get the "could not find patch #3 and #4" error

Hi guys, I tried the installation just like P!nkpanter described it with the 1.7.1 version and 384.84 Nvidia drivers. However there is no option for sli in my control panel. My question is, if it is even possible to pair a gtx 970 and a gtx 1060 like I am trying.

Legend has it in you look in the mirror and say SLI 3 times the hexadecimal offsets show up on the mirror. Don't believe me?

But, big problem, everytime i start a game or something that touch the gpu like occt or 3dmark, the complete computer freeze

Crashes like this are usually caused by SLIing GPUs which were not meant to be SLIed.
Do you have identical 980s?

both are msi gtx 980 gaming bought at same time with the same vendor

I would begin testing whether the cards work individually, at full performance, in their respective slots (in GPU mode).
If both perform normally, they should work well together in SLI, assuming you connected them using an SLI bridge.

If you have further questions, please list your specs (MoBo, OS version, etc.)

So i made a strange brigade gaming session at 4k without issue with drivers 430.86 (even if my system was a bit stress, GPU were at 77°C), i also started Shadow of the Tomb Raider. What are the games you've tried ?

after a Week-end i can't retry to do it, this morning i found the reason why it not work on my computer, the patch just didn't apply

i fully uninstalled the driver with DDU before and copyed the new nvlddmkm.sys the the directory before i try it, and i really Don't know how to deal with this problem

my mobo is an asus m5-a97 R2.0, 8gig ram at 2133, fx-8320e @4.5GHz, win10 1903, and 2x MSI GTX980 Gaming 4g, they both work perfectly and i can sli them on a friend computer without problem

The patching you did is the way to go for the 3xx drivers (patcher 1.7.1. & driver 388.71).
For the 4xx drivers the procedure has changed.
Start at the following post (but for driver 430.86 you need to use the offsets posted above by Pretentious):
