Hi.

I've put a hand on an older Lenovo 3000 J series.

3800+ Athlon 2.4gigs
2X 512m DDR2-533
80gigs Sata
DVD-RW
Onboard sound and GPU but will probably drop in a 128megs gpu

I installed Win 7 Home premium for the low power demand of applications but I dont have any licence for it. Is there anyone with a license that dont use it can give to me?

It's for helping a low working-class family that the daughter will start first grade high school this coming year.

I could but i will not start to give computer class to a 13 yo girl and her family. I give a computer that they can easily understand, maintain and clean like mainstream people that dont go around websites like TPU. :)

You know what it is better for them, but I wouldn't call " easily understand, maintain and clean" of Windows prior Linux, these days...but I see somebody already help you, so this is good...

If it were someone who never used a computer before, maybe Linux would be a better choice.. But for anyone who has used any version of Windows since 95, Linux has a STEEP learning curve.

Learning and using windows these days is a perquisite in the education system and later in the work place
Linux is a luxury to be indulged in (Microshit patents permitting)

Let the Girl get on with her education under windows and the world of software that opens for her by using windows
