So...7850 will be the only choice for me?

Hello everyone.

I'm using an ancient PC with AMD 2500+ and ATI9550

So I'm considering a completely new build for gaming mainly.

I'm in a buget, so I think I can get a GPU first and another one to CF month later

7870 is just great but maybe 350 bucks priced is a little beyond while 299 will be perfect.

So I can get 7850 only ? Or a revelent product in Kepler ?

I haven't heard of any other Kepler cards being released besides the GTX 680 which will be a little more expensive then the HD 7970. A 7850, going by reviews is a good card and when you have more money down the road and want more performance, CrossFire is a good option.

What other parts (CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Power Supply) are you looking at getting?

RAM Samsung or G.Skill 4G*2

in fact, I like AMD over NV because NV always consumes more power and get more hot.

and I think 300 for a graphic card is okay and I remember it said 7870 to be 299.

since 7870 priced at 350, I've notice a huge difference between 7870 and 7850. 100 buck with like 20% stronger ?

In your situation, I would go with a single 7850 and overclock it. It will get 95% of a 7870's performance. Then crossfire when you have more money and you will have a super fast GPU set up for $500 total.

wait till the GTX680 launches, depending on whether or not its really faster than the 7970(seems like it is) and its launch price, AMD will drop prices, you might be able to get a 7870 at that point.

You can get a 6970 for $230 on newegg, which is faster than a 7850
