Only way I would pay 100$ if I could play it right now and not have to wait 3-5 more years :D

About 6 million people will. Guarantee it.

Call of Duty is $100 each year too. Comes with the first season pass which is $20 each season anyways and you get extra in-game stuff. So if that sells millions of copies and cost about $200 for the entire year, GTA6 can easily sell for $100.

Sure, make resaleable physical copies with nice booklets and shit a thing again and I'm ready to pay $100. Digital "you own it but not really" - haha, no, I'll wait for sales, thank you.

I would only buy the game (irrelevant of price, because the gameplay was very good on 5) if they pull their heads out of their arses and implement ANY anti cheating measures. I stopped playing GTA 5/Online because it was completely ridiculous in open lobbies to the point you had to have invulnerability permanently on, an even then you'd get someone who killed everyone from time to time.

Initial question: Nope - When I buy hardware and it'S a amd reward game - than i bought it. But I highly doubt it will be ever an amd reward game.
There are so many free games or open source games or semi free games to choose from.

I got GTA V on the epic game store. It's totally overrated game for 2023. The single player mode is very annoying. I skipped it quite fast and never touched it.
The game engine is dated - game style is dated.

I spend much more time on subnautica, kingdom come, dredge, the long dark to name a few other higher quality epic "free giveaway" games.

I did play GTA II a lot in my younger years. GTA V is a total fail. I also played a few minutes GTA IV - I do not like it at all.

I think It's called saint rows. That has a much better gaming experience.

GTA V is a low quality - trash game. It has not the quality of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Subnautica, Kingdom Come, Dredge, The long Dark - to name other free giveaway epic games.

Too bad that franchise has also been completely destroyed. It was a fun game while it lasted.
SR2 is still the best GTA clone I've ever played. Sucks that its PC port is even way worse than GTA IV's, I guess that a GTA clone must have a shitty PC port like its inspiration as well

We get raked over the coals over here..

Edit: Sry, just noticed it was 2024 edition. I got the 2020 edition. Makes sense now. Gees, I need to go to spec savers.

Unfortunately my entry into the franchise was SR3. I enjoyed that game but everything that came after that was a little over the top for me

100 dollars for GTA 6 is a bit steep. Who’s going to pay that then, think it will be worth it?

I highly doubt it's more than $70, but I'd pay $100, sure.

Uhh, 6 million? More like 60 million. GTA V has sold over 205 million copies. GTA VI will do 50+ million within the first week most likely.

Sales go brrrr

Any game that isnt playable without logging into a launcher wont ever get more than 30-40 bucks of my pocket. Its that simple.

Rockstar having the gall to even think of increasing base game price while they nudge you towards their always online MTX circus that made them millions is a definitive confirmation Im not touching that shit anytime soon. That money isnt going into better SP campaign you all know it and we saw it before.

Well if they bundle it with a decent controller…:D

If it's another proper Rockstar Game, i will pay the 100, comparing their games in quality, story, design, polished, attention to detail compared to 99.99% of games releases they deserve that and more. I would never pay, i don't pay 60 for most games

I would prefer to pay less if i could.

I bought GTA5 for £20 once all the bugs had been ironed out with the PC conversion. Honestly, it was a really good game, and so much better than the DMA prequels that were LAN-party staples for us -but I don't get why GTA gets hyped so much any more.

Back when GTA3 launched, it was either the first, or at least one of the first open-world games that successfully merged driving missions and missions on foot. The story was pretty engaging too, despite being a bit short an inconclusive, but it was a good framework for the excellent weapon-specific or vehicle-specific missions.

GTA5 felt great, but it wasn't a genre-defining game at that point, and the graphics on PC weren't revolutionary either. I think the thing that made it for me was the first-person mode, but that immersion was broken by switching characters all the time.

I don't know what Rockstar can do to make GTA6 special. I think gamers are getting tired of graphical improvements eating up all the developer time that should have been spent on better gameplay, story, and QA. I'm going to guess that the story will be good, but the game will be a technical mess and best to wait for a year or more after launch - certainly not something worth picking up as a $100 beta. Get the polished version for $40 in 2026.

I really liked GTA5, it was the first GTA to nail every aspect. Shooting, driving, story, music etc. I never fast travelled, just drove everywhere with the ingame radio.

If nothing in my back log or wishlist of "old" games that I'm waiting to get fixed (e.g. Stalker 2, Dragons Dogma 2) interest me and a week after launch people aren't complaining about it being a buggy, unoptimised mess I'll get it.

With how politically infused this game is likely to be, maybe I'll play it when it's free on Epic Games Store, like GTA V was. If then, even.
That's why I stick to apolitical games like MGS and Disco Elysium.

GTA6 is the game I've been waiting for. It's the only game I can't wait to play, and it has been that way for a long while now. The news about it maybe costing $100 is a nut kick. GTA5 is on my short list of favorite games ever.

I don't believe the base game will be $100. Its gonna be $79.99. I won't believe this until its official.

I honestly highly doubt it will be $100. But if it is, meh, games are incredibly cheap compared to almost any other form of entertainment. I'll spend $100 at the bar in a night easy, I'll spend over $100 on a concert or sporting event. Those are all one day events, large videogames are played for hundreds of hours. Even at $100 it'd be a bargain so long as it's good, which I am sure it will be.

i agree, but we also need to start asking for more in return, if i went to a bar and they sold me beer that still had cereal on it i would not pay, if i went to a concert and the dude couldn't sing, was drunk, and asked for some patient in the next hour he would get it right i would start a riot

Nope. Not even 60EUR.
Yeah after seeing how they milked GTAV I won't be paying full price for it. Most likely I'll buy it during discount, that is after I read the reviews of it. I only wanted to play single player portion of it.
