Here's an interesting article I've read about robotics.
It explains why are spiders and bees models for microbots.

Ever try mowing a lawn with grasshoppers about? It's like a freaking firing range. Human is the target.

Reason why I brought it up is because their hind legs are relatively easy to mimic. Fleas are similar. Spider legs in general are pretty complicated because there's an extra pair that's not particularly helpful.
