SSD M2 key M+B to PCIe adapter: need help please

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my PC with a new Z690 motherboard. The original one is an HP mATX wich have a M.2 key m+b ssd.

The new motherboard does only support key m M.2 ssd so I'm trying to find an adapter or a converter to a SATA or PCIe port.
I know I can do a fresh win10 install but I would like to use my actual M.2 ssd.

Thing is that I'm quite confused about what kind of adapter I need because they have different specs. Some adapter are compatible with NVMe and other only with NGFF ones, but I don't know what kind of M.2 ssd is the one that I have.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks

that's m.2 sata.
if you wish to recycle it, your best bet would be find an adaptor that'd allow you to plug your ssd into a traditional sata port, via sata cable.

Thank you for the reply.
So if I understand my actual M.2 is a SATA one and not a NVMe o NGFF right?
I have found some adapter that can convert to a SATA port or some cards that goes into a PCIe slot. Is the SATA one faster?

Thanks

it is ngff. but it is not nvme. ngff = m.2. it has a sata and an nvme (pcie) flavor. they are keyed differently.
nvme is faster.

Ok, so I will look for an adapter or converter that support NGFF ssd with m+b key and that can be connected by a normal SATA cable.

Thanks.
